Korean carmaker Kia is broadening the appeal of its K4 lineup in Europe with the introduction of a new wagon body style that puts equal weight on design, technology, and practicality. The K4 Sportswagon is positioned between the traditional C- and D-segments, targeting buyers who want space without stepping into the full-size estate or SUV platform.

Staying true to the brand’s current design direction, the K4 Sportswagon translates Kia’s “Opposites United” philosophy into a silhouette that’s longer and more functional for the family. Measuring 4,695 mm in length, the wagon flaunts width and stability through clean horizontal lines, while signature star map lighting and inverted L-shaped LED rear lamps give it a distinctive look on the road. Its more intricate details, such as hidden rear door handles, stylish C-pillars, and sculpted tailgate, help accentuate its sporty stance.

For customers looking for a more expressive look, the K4 Sportswagon GT-Line variant adds visual drama through high-gloss black exterior accents, sportier bumpers, and exclusive interior colors and materials. The result is a wagon that looks and feels premium without losing its approachable character as a daily family car.

Inside, the K4 Sportwagon mirrors the tech-forward approach of the rest of the K4 range. The centerpiece is a wide panoramic display that combines a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 5.3-inch climate screen, and a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, all powered by Kia’s Connected car navigation cockpit system. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard, while features such as a wireless phone charger, premium audio, and heated and ventilated seats are available on higher trims. Digital Key 2.0 allows compatible smartphones to act as virtual keys, supported by Kia Connect services such as over-the-air (OTA) software updates, streaming apps, and an AI voice assistant activated by the “Het Kia” command.

Practicality is where its wagon body style truly shines. The luggage compartment offers up to 604 liters of space, which is more than what the K4 Hatchback can accommodate. Moreover, its 2,720 mm wheelbase translates into generous rear legroom. To top it off, a power tailgate adds more convenience for daily use.

Kia says the K4 Sportswagon is designed with safety in mind. As such, it comes with a comprehensive suite of features, grouped under its advanced driver assistance system (ADAS). These include blind-spot view Monitor, highway driving assist 2.0, and forward collision-avoidance assist 2.

Currently offered for the European market, the Kia K4 Sportswagon comes with both petrol and electrified powertrain options, ranging from a 1.0 T-GDI engine to a more powerful 1.6 T-GDI unit. A full hybrid version is scheduled for introduction in 2026. Kia says the K4 Sportswagon’s production will be at its manufacturing facility in Pesquería, Nuevo.
