VinFast Philippines announced that the VF 3 is the best-selling battery electric vehicle (BEV) in the local market after recording 2,906 units sold from January to August 2026, as per data from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI).
VinFast PH said that the VF 3 has been one of its top-selling models, which has captured the interest of individuals who are looking for a compact and practical EV. The Vietnamese car brand shared that the VinFast VF 3 has already been gaining traction in the local market even before the oil price hikes. Then, the demand surged when local fuel prices increased significantly, prompting motorists to consider cost-efficient mobility options.
Aside from the market’s shift due to the oil price hikes, VinFast PH said that its comprehensive Ownership System has helped the brand to gain the trust of local car buyers, which includes the battery subscription program, which lowers upfront costs, resulting in added interest among those buyers who are considering to drive home a brand-new EV.

The brand’s battery subscription program is also among the factors that helped VinFast PH to convince the market to shift to electric mobility. Another campaign that VinFast launched is the Residual Value Guarantee Program, which protects long-term asset value. Other than the programs, VinFast PH has also promoted a free EV charging program, which will be available until March 31, 2029.
Considering all that, VinFast PH claims that it has managed to build a strong total cost of ownership case for VF 3, attracting local consumers to make the EV shift.
“We are deeply grateful and incredibly proud of the warm reception that VF 3 received in the Philippines. Achieving the number one spot is a milestone that demonstrates Filipino drivers’ readiness to embrace electric mobility when backed by an ecosystem that supports their entire journey,” said VinFast PH CEO Antonio “Toti” Zara III.

“The incredible reception of the VF 3 proves that eliminating traditional barriers through our comprehensive Ownership System makes going electric a seamless, practical choice,” Zara added.
In the latest CAMPI sales report, VinFast PH maintains its foothold as the number one brand in the BEV category with 865 units sold in September 2026. It is followed by Omoda & Jaecoo with 599 units sold, while Tesla followed closely with 588 units sold.
VinFast aims to continue its momentum in the Philippines, as it prepares for the launch of the VF 8 in November. Ahead of its official November launch, VinFast PH has opened pre-orders for the all-new VF 8.

Autocar’s Take
VinFast Philippines shared that the VF 3 is the country’s best-selling EV so far, as it recorded over 2,900 units from January to August 2026. This shows that EVs are gaining traction in the local market, with more car buyers considering driving home a brand-new EV. The local market’s shift is influenced by the oil price hike, which has been on an upward and erratic trend since the first quarter of 2026. As such, EVs such as the VF 3 are among the products that stand out as buyers look for a more cost-efficient daily driver.
