Denza, BYD’s premium luxury brand, further expands its lineup with the unveiling of the 1,000 hp Denza Z supercar at Auto China 2026.
Fresh in the Philippine market, the Denza brand was launched in January of this year, with the hope of following the success of BYD in the country. The brand entered the market with the Denza D9 premium MPV as its launch model, and recently expanded its local lineup with the SUV models B5 and B8, which were officially launched a few days ago.

At the Auto China 2026 in Beijing, Denza expanded its global lineup with the introduction of its newest supercar offering, the Denza Z. Crafted by a global team led by former Audi design chief Wolfganger Egger. Positioned as a posher rival to the MG Cyberster, the Denza Z embodies the “Pure Emotion” design philosophy, resulting in a streamlined, aerodynamic silhouette that combines elegance and dynamism in a single supercar.
The Denza Z was first unveiled as a concept car at last year’s Shanghai International Auto Show as a four-seater coupe that is said to pit against the Porsche 911. A year later, the production model Denza Z has been officially unveiled as a 1,000 hp electric supercar that boasts sub-2-second 0-100 km/h acceleration. It also features advanced technologies, such as a steer-by-wire system and the DiSus-M Intelligent Body Control System, an electromagnetic suspension system designed to enhance stability, comfort, and safety. It also features the next-gen Blade battery and Flash Charging, which allows fast charging in just a couple of minutes.

Being a proper supercar, the Denza Z is set for its lap-record runs at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Reports suggest that it will have its full global launch at the prestigious Goodwood Festival of Speed in July in the UK. International markets will be prioritized ahead of Z’s domestic China launch, aiming to stir up the global electric supercar segment.
The Denza Z will be available in three variants of Standard, Convertible, and Track, in which the brand launched a public competition to name each variant prior to its global launch.
While official specs and prices are yet to be confirmed, reports suggest that the Denza Z will be priced above the EV version of the Denza Z9 GT, a luxury performance grand tourer set to be launched in the Philippines, which currently goes for €115,000 in Europe.
