Hariphil Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of Chevrolet in the Philippines, has expanded its model lineup by offering new energy vehicles (NEV) such as the Spark EUV. Of note, it’s not the Chevy Spark that the Philippine market once knew, as the new model is now an electric crossover.
The Spark EUV has a body design that comes with a modern-looking front end, thanks to its headlight design. It then comes with a front bumper that has a straightforward design. Turning at the side, the Spark EUV electric crossover has prominent wheel arches along with straight character lines and roof rails. The rear, on the other hand, has distinctive taillights.
Chevrolet Philippines shared that the Spark EUV is engineered for modern city life, making it a vehicle that’s said to be “easy to maneuver, tech-forward, and full of personality.” The Chevrolet Spark EUV comes with the following dual-tone exterior colors: Sea Blue with a White roof, Track Yellow, and Gentle Gray with a Black roof. The car brand is also offering a Milky Tea monotone option.

Inside, the Chevrolet Spark EUV features a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen along with an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, allowing drivers seamless access to essential vehicle and battery information.
In terms of safety, the Spark EUV is integrated with advanced driver assist systems such asIntelligent Driving Assist, Front Collision Safety System, Lane Safety Features, and a 360° Panoramic Camera.

Power comes from a 75kW permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) paired with a 41.9 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery. It generates 101 horsepower and 180 Nm of torque with an electric range of up to 360 kilometers (NEDC). Chevrolet PH said that the Spark EUV supports 6.6 kW AC charging and 50 kW DC fast charging, with the capability to charge from 30 to 80 percent in 35 minutes.
The Spark EUV has a suggested retail price of P1,547,000. However, Chevrolet PH is offering it at an introductory price of P1,449,000 for a limited time only.

Aside from the Spark EUV, Chevrolet PH has also introduced the Captiva EV and Captiva plug-in hybrid EV (PHEV).
The Chevrolet Captiva EV is powered by a 150 kW PMSM motor and a 60 kWh LFP battery. The bow tie brand shared that the Captiva EV delivers up to 415 kilometers of range (NEDC). The Captiva PHEV, on the other hand, comes with a 1.5-liter engine paired to a 150 kW electric motor and a 20.5 kWh battery, generating a combined range of around 1,040 kilometers (NEDC), according to Chevrolet.
The Captiva EV has an SRP of P1,938,000 and is available at an introductory price of P1,860,000 for a limited time only. Meanwhile, the Captiva PHEV has an SRP of P1,899,000 and is offered at an intro price of P1,821,000 for a limited time as well.

Autocar’s Take
The new vehicles under Chevrolet Philippines’ model lineup could help the car brand reestablish its presence in the local market. With the introduction of new energy vehicles (NEV) such as the Spark EUV, Captiva EV, and Captiva PHEV, Chevrolet PH can attract new customers to consider driving home one of its NEVs.
The introductory prices of the Spark EUV, Captiva EV, and Captiva PHEV show Chevrolet PH’s commitment to be among the car brands of choice in the local market. From the looks of it, Chevrolet PH is banking on its NEVs as one of the products that would bring back the spark that captivated the local market to the bow tie brand.
