Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has updated the Triton pickup truck with a refreshed exterior and a revamped interior. The design updates give the updated 2026 Mitsubishi Triton pickup truck a bolder and more assertive demeanor.
For the 2026 design update, MMPC has dropped the use of chrome accents for the Mitsubishi Triton. The updated Triton variant lineup now comes with black accents, which give Mitsubishi’s pickup truck a bolder finish. The Triton GX and GLX variants now come with black door handles, black side mirrors, and a black rear bumper. Meanwhile, the Triton GLX variant, previously equipped with silver wheels, now comes with a set of 18-inch black alloy wheels.
The high-spec Triton GLS, on the other hand, is also updated as it now features black accents on its Dynamic Shield front fascia. Black accents can also be seen in the Triton GLS’ alloy wheels, fender arch moldings, and front under garnish. The black trims fitted to the Triton GLS give the pickup truck a more aggressive finish.

Inside, the Mitsubishi Triton now comes with black leather seats, replacing the previous fabric seats. The leather seats give the Triton’s cabin a more premium feel, elevating the truck’s overall interior finish.
Under the hood, the Triton still comes with the same diesel engine. As such, non-Athlete Mitsubishi Triton variants (GL, GX, and GLS) are powered by a 2.4-liter turbocharged diesel engine that puts out 181 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
For comparison, the Mitsubishi Triton Athlete is powered by a 2.4-litre bi-turbo diesel engine that’s capable of producing 201 horsepower and 470 Nm of torque. The engine is connected to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. added that the updated 2026 Triton remains a capable pickup, engineered for durability, stability, and performance across various terrains and conditions. With its refreshed design and unwavering capability, the Triton proves that it is more than just a pickup; it is a partner in every journey, every challenge, and every success, according to Mitsubishi.

Autocar’s Take
The updated look of the Mitsubishi Triton features black accents, which drops the use of chrome. The move to drop chrome for black accents is something we like, since it makes the vehicle look bolder while also having a hint of sportiness to the Triton’s overall exterior design. The black accents on the Triton GLS’ fender flares and front under garnish make it a more rugged-looking truck that’s ready to take on rough terrain. The addition of black leather seats is also a nice upgrade, as it gives non-Athlete Triton trims a more premium-like interior, providing comfort and added style points.
