Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) could be preparing the debut of the updated 2027 Triton, as the said pickup truck already has homologation documents from the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
While there are no significant changes indicated in the LTO homologation documents, we could expect that the new Mitsubishi Triton could be equipped with essential updates, which would probably matter most for individuals who are particular about a pickup truck’s ride comfort. This is because one of the updates that we can expect for the 2027 Mitsubishi Triton is a revamped suspension system.
Early this year, Mitsubishi revealed the updated Triton that’s fitted with a tweaked suspension that’s said to deliver improved ride quality, handling, and better noise and vibration absorption. The Japanese car brand said that it has changed the settings of the Triton’s front suspension, while adding body mounts to reduce vibration. Mitsubishi also tweaked the front and rear shock absorbers for better ride comfort.
The updated Triton also comes with performance dampers from Yamaha, which are integrated into the front and rear of the pickup truck. The dampers help regulate the vibrations and reduce the Triton’s bouncing motion, resulting in smoother damping and better handling.
Aside from the suspension updates, the new Triton that was introduced early this year features tailgate assist, which makes it easier to open and close the bed’s tailgate. This feature is also found in the Ford Ranger, and makes the truck’s tailgate easier and lighter to pull down when opening and lifting back up when closing it.
Mitsubishi Philippines has yet to share official details regarding the updated 2027 Triton. But with LTO homologation documents already secured, Mitsubishi PH could debut the new Triton soon. The timing is also great since the Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) is happening in June this year, and Mitsubishi PH could use that said auto show to highlight the updated Triton pickup truck.

The reason for this is that it is equipped with essential updates that are geared towards offering better ride comfort, improved cabin experience, and enhanced handling.
