Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has expanded the variant lineup of the Triton pickup truck as it introduced the GX trim, which features an automatic transmission and a price tag of P1,430,000. MMPC said that this move is designed to offer the Triton at a more attainable price.
The Mitsubishi Triton GX variant comes with a two-wheel drive configuration along with a six-speed automatic transmission. This new variant makes sense especially for those individuals who are eyeing to drive home the Mitsubishi Triton with an automatic transmission. To put things in perspective, the starting price for a Triton equipped with an automatic gearbox is at P1,735,000, which is the GLX 2WD A/T trim.
With the arrival of the Triton GX, Mitsubishi Philippines lowers the entry price for a Triton truck equipped with an automatic transmission by P305,000. This makes Mitsubishi’s midsize pickup truck with an automatic transmission more attainable, as well as gives consumers more options when shopping for the Triton.
MMPC said that the Mitsubishi Triton GX 2WD AT delivers the “toughness expected from a Triton while offering everyday driving comfort that fits modern lifestyles.” Its six-speed automatic transmission is also seen to make navigating daily traffic less of a hassle, which comes in handy during this time when EDSA is being rehabilitated.
The Triton GX 2WD AT comes equipped with an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also has a reverse camera, which will be useful during tight city driving and parking situations.
The Mitsubishi Triton GX is powered by the same 2.4-liter turbocharged diesel engine that puts out 181 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. This is the same power unit that powers other Triton variants such as the GL, GLX, and GLS.
The Triton GX 2WD AT is available in a wide range of colors, allowing customers to choose a look that suits their lifestyle: Blade Silver Metallic, White Diamond, Graphite Gray Metallic, Jet Black Mica, and Red Solid.
