We believe Ford Everest Wolftrak is a good addition to local lineup

Ford Everest Wolftrak is the kind of special-edition SUV that can add personality without losing sight of what matters. Based on the Australian-spec Everest Sport, the new variant combines a tougher visual identity with equipment aimed at owners who actually use their SUV for towing, touring, and weekend adventures.

According to Australian media outlet Drive, the 2027 Ford Everest Wolftrak is being introduced in the region as an addition to the range, bringing the Wolftrak name and styling cues already associated with Ford’s Ranger into the seven-seat SUV. The variant gets a distinctive Traction Green theme, black exterior elements, 20-inch wheels, and a selection of towing-focused features.

Moreover, Ford gives the Wolftrak an integrated trailer brake controller, Pro Trailer Backup Assist, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, and a trailer connection alarm. Those additions make sense on an Everest, particularly for buyers who want one vehicle that can handle family duties during the week and a boat, caravan, or recreational trailer on the weekend.

Under the hood, buyers can choose between the 2.0-liter turbo-diesel and the 3.0-liter V6 turbo-diesel. The four-cylinder produces 168 hp and 405 Nm, while the V6 delivers 250 hp and 600 Nm. Both are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. Ford lists the Everest’s maximum braked towing capacity at 3,500kg when properly equipped.

Inside, the Wolftrak carries its theme through with unique front seats, contrast Traction Green stitching, Wolftrak embroidery, and matching interior accents. The result is a cabin that feels deliberately different from a regular Everest Sport rather than simply being another trim level with a badge attached.

The Philippine angle, however, needs a reality check. Ford Philippines made it clear with a simple response, saying, “We have no news to share on any additions to the Everest lineup in the Philippines.” That means there is no confirmed local launch at this point.

Still, we believe Ford Everest Wolftrak is a good addition to local lineup—at least in principle. The Philippine Everest already has the ingredients to appeal to families, travelers, and buyers who want genuine utility. A visually distinctive variant with useful towing technology could give the range another personality without requiring an entirely new model.

For now, though, the Wolftrak remains an Australian-market variant. Whether Ford Philippines eventually sees an opportunity for it here is something Filipinos will have to wait and see.

Autocar’s Take

The Ford Everest Wolftrak makes sense as a special edition because it adds more than visual flair. Its distinctive styling gives the familiar Everest a fresh identity, while the additional towing equipment gives the variant a practical reason to exist. That combination could work particularly well in the Philippines, where SUVs are often expected to handle family trips, long-distance travel, and recreational duties.

Of course, Ford Philippines has made no commitment to bringing it here, so expectations should remain measured. Still, if Ford eventually wants another Everest variant for the local market, the Wolftrak looks like a compelling candidate worth considering.
