Motorcycle sales in the Philippines saw a significant increase in the first quarter (Q1) of 2026, especially when fuel prices started to go up in March. The Motorcycle Development Program Participants Association, Inc. (MDPPA) reported that local motorcycle sales recorded almost 497,000 units sold from January 2026 to March 2026.

The MDPPA, which includes member brands such as Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha, reported that 496,868 motorcycle units were sold in Q1 2026, which is an 11.6 percent increase compared to the 445,047 units recorded in the same period in 2025.

Motorcycle sales in the country are continuously growing, which is why VinFast intends to ride on this trend, as it partners with 14 new electric scooter dealers in the Philippines. This is in preparation for the target launch date of VinFast motorcycles in the country, which is in June 2026.

VinFast’s initial e-scooter offerings in the local market, such as the Evo, Feliz II, and Viper, will include swappable battery technology. That said, here is a rundown on what to expect for the upcoming VinFast e-scooter models in the Philippines.

VinFast Evo

The VinFast Evo comes with a distinctive look, featuring a design that is said to lean towards classic European urban scooters. The Evo has a modern-retro vibe, a reminiscence of classic-looking bikes, similar to how the Honda Giorno+ is styled.

The Evo carries a rounded and clean silhouette that feels youthful without looking overly retro, according to VinFast. Its proportions are compact and slim enough for city riding, while details like the rounded LED projector headlamp and minimalist bodywork give it a lifestyle-oriented personality.

VinFast said that the Evo is an e-scooter that is suited for students, younger professionals, and city commuters who prioritize ease of use over outright performance.

VinFast Feliz II

The VinFast Feliz II is said to come with a more premium-looking urban scooter design, as compared to the Evo. It features a longer body profile, larger wheels, and a more planted road presence. The longer profile allows the Feliz II to have a confident stance.

The Vietnamese company shared that the Feliz II is ideal for office workers, riders seeking more comfort, and practical commuters who want a scooter capable of handling both weekday traffic and occasional weekend errands.

VinFast Viper

The VinFast Viper is integrated with the most aggressive styling compared to the Evo and the Feliz II. The Viper comes with sharp body lines, angular lighting signatures, and a sporty stance. As such, this VinFast e-scooter features a youthful and assertive demeanor. The front fascia in particular looks noticeably more aggressive and modern compared with the softer styling of the Evo and Feliz II.

VinFast said that the Viper is ideal for younger riders or commuters wanting a scooter with a little more excitement in everyday riding or wanting to ride with style.

Of note, all VinFast e-scooter models that will arrive in the Philippines will likely come in both single-battery and dual-battery configurations, helping support VinFast’s broader battery-swapping ecosystem.

VinFast said that individuals using the e-scooter primarily for short urban commutes could comfortably live with the single-battery configuration, while riders covering longer daily distances may appreciate the option of adding a second battery.

Autocar’s Take

VinFast is determined to further expand and establish its foothold in the Philippine market. The Vietnamese brand is not just making strides when it comes to electric vehicles, but it has also started to lay out plans to kickstart the introduction of its electric scooters in the Philippines.

As mentioned, VinFast has already partnered with 14 new electric scooter dealers in the Philippines, which will sell its initial models, such as the Evo, Feliz II, and the Viper. VinFast also plans to establish around 30,000 battery-swapping stations nationwide in collaboration with infrastructure partners, aiming to address concerns around charging convenience and range anxiety.
