Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has previewed the Outlander plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS).
The Outlander PHEV features a bold, assertive exterior design with Mitsubishi’s signature Dynamic Shield front fascia, making it look somewhat similar to the Montero Sport. The large grille, chunky front bumper, and sharp LED daytime running lights highlight its bold stance.
Turning at the side, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV comes with crisp character lines along with a stylish set of wheels. At the rear, it has distinctive taillights, as well as a spoiler with a third brake light and a shark fin antenna. The bumper is accented by a silver garnish, adding texture to the Outlander PHEV’s rear.

Inside, it has a modern-looking and two-tone cabin. The white and black accent on the interior gives the Outlander PHEV a premium-looking interior. It also has a massive infotainment touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, and a refined steering wheel. The center console is highlighted by a modern-looking gear selector, a rotary knob, and cubby holes. The Outlander PHEV can accommodate up to seven passengers.

With that, the PIMS-bound Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV could come with a 2.4-liter gasoline engine with twin electric motors, delivering a combined output of around 251 horsepower. Mitsubishi claims that the powertrain allows the Outlander PHEV to run purely in electric driving mode for daily commutes, with an estimated EV-only range of over 80 kilometers under ideal conditions. When the battery runs low, the gasoline engine takes over, extending the total driving range to well over 800 kilometers.
MMPC will be announcing the final specs and pricing of the Outlander PHEV at a later date.

Aside from the Outlander PHEV, MMPC also showcased the XForce, but the car brand opted not to debut the hybrid electric vehicle variant yet. At the show is the currently available XForce in the Philippines. As such, it is powered by a 1.5-liter gasoline engine that produces 104 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque, mated to a CVT. The XForce has different drive modes: Normal, Wet, Gravel, and Mud. Add to that Mitsubishi Motors Safety Sensing (MMSS), which includes features such as Forward Collision Mitigation and Adaptive Cruise Control. Borrowing from Mitsubishi’s rally heritage, the XForce is also equipped with Active Yaw Control (AYC).
The XForce is a five-seater subcompact crossover that comes with modern exterior styling, a similar approach to how Mitsubishi designed the Destinator. It has a bold Dynamic Shield front fascia, which is complemented by muscular proportions and an aggressive stance.
Inside, the cabin showcases a modern digital experience with a large infotainment display, a premium Yamaha audio system, and advanced connectivity features.
Autocar’s Take
Mitsubishi Philippines has showcased its latest arsenal at the 10th PIMS, as it displayed the Outlander PHEV alongside the XForce. The Outlander’s preview is significant since it gives Mitsubishi PH a challenger in the growing PHEV segment. The XForce’s showcase is a testament to the diverse model lineup of Mitsubishi PH, which is one of the reasons why Mitsubishi is considered by many as one of the most popular and trusted car brands in the Philippines. Its reputation has long been built on producing vehicles that are reliable, practical, and durable, qualities that continue to resonate strongly with Filipino motorists today.
