Motor Image Pilipinas, the official distributor of Subaru vehicles in the Philippines, has launched the Crosstrek e-Hybrid at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), making it an additional hybrid model option in Subaru PH’s lineup.

Other than the Crosstrek e-Hybrid, Subaru PH also showcased the Forester e-Boxer Hybrid with Adventure Pack, Forester e-Boxer Hybrid Base Variant, and the WRX Wagon. With the cars it has brought for display, one can say that Subaru intended to make a significant statement at PIMS 2026.

Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid

The arrival of the Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid is perhaps one of the most significant developments for Subaru Philippines in recent years. Ever since the Crosstrek replaced the XV nameplate, it has become one of Subaru’s strongest global products. Filipino buyers have embraced its elevated ride height, all-weather capability, practical dimensions, and youthful personality.

The introduction of the e-Hybrid system to the Crosstrek adds another layer of appeal and shows Subaru’s commitment to developing new energy vehicles (NEV). The Crosstrek e-Hybrid’s exterior is relatively similar to the standard Crosstrek subcompact crossover SUV. The most obvious difference to the exterior is the “e-Boxer” or “Hybrid” badging placed on the fenders and tailgate.

The Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid comes with 220mm of ground clearance, as well as roof rails and 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. Available colors include Citron Yellow Pearl and Sand Dune Pearl.

Inside, it is integrated with an 11.6-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a smartphone charging pad, and an updated EyeSight driver-assistance suite with additional safety technologies. The vehicle also comes with Dual-Function X-Mode, allowing the driver to select different modes such as Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud. This option can be toggled through the infotainment screen.

The most notable difference lies under the hood, as the Subaru Crosstrek e-Hybrid is equipped with a 2.0-liter engine that delivers 150 horsepower and 196 Nm of torque. It also comes with a single electric motor that’s said to produce 17 horsepower and 66 Nm of torque. The Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid also has a 0.57 kWh battery and all-wheel drive.

Subaru’s e-Boxer technology is said to be designed to complement the brand’s existing strengths. The electric motor works alongside the boxer engine to improve efficiency, deliver smoother low-speed operation, and enhance overall responsiveness without sacrificing the all-wheel-drive capability.

Forester e-Boxer Hybrid with Adventure Pack

The Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid is showcased alongside two Forester units, one of which is the Subaru Forester e-Boxer Hybrid with Adventure Pack.

The Adventure Pack enhances the Forester e-Boxer Hybrid’s rugged character through exterior accessories and styling elements designed to appeal to buyers who embrace an active lifestyle. It transforms the Forester from a practical family SUV into a vehicle that looks ready to tackle mountain trails, camping sites, and long-distance road trips.

It still comes with the same 2.5-liter boxer engine, paired with an electric motor that’s integrated into the CVT. The CVT features a six-speed manual mode, which the driver can control via paddle shifters, allowing for a more engaging driving experience. The gasoline engine and hybrid system deliver a combined output of 283 horsepower and 485 Nm of torque.

For families who regularly travel beyond city limits, the Forester e-Boxer Adventure Pack presents an attractive proposition. It comes with hybrid technology while retaining the all-weather confidence provided by Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system.

Forester e-Boxer Hybrid Base Variant

The Forester e-Boxer Hybrid base variant features a cleaner and more streamlined exterior compared to the Forester integrated with the Adventure Pack. This variant strips away some of the lifestyle-focused exterior enhancements.

It also has the same 2.5-liter engine that’s paired with a hybrid system, generating a combined output of 283 horsepower and 485 Nm of torque.

WRX Wagon

While NEVs are showcased at PIMS 2026, Subaru understands that performance remains an essential part of its brand identity.

Subaru’s inclusion of the WRX Wagon in its PIMS 2026 display shows that the brand remains dedicated to offering performance-oriented vehicles. Combining the performance credentials of the WRX sedan with the practicality of a wagon body style, the Subaru WRX Wagon offers a unique proposition in a market increasingly dominated by SUVs and crossovers.

The Subaru WRX Wagon is powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that delivers 271 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, mated to a Sport Lineartronic CVT with All-Wheel Drive.

The 10th PIMS will run until June 7, 2026, at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

Autocar’s Take

Subaru Philippines made its presence felt at the PIMS 2026 by showcasing several of its vehicles, which show the car brand’s gradual shift to electrification. Among the cars that it brought to the show is the Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid, which adds another layer of appeal to the Crosstrek model and shows Subaru’s commitment to developing new energy vehicles. Speaking of which, the Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid is an additional option aside from the Forester Hybrid.

The Forester Hybrid was also showcased at the 10th PIMS, and Subaru PH showed a unit that’s equipped with the Adventure Pack, which enhances the Forester’s rugged character through exterior accessories and styling elements designed to appeal to buyers who embrace an active lifestyle.
