Hyundai unveiled the design of the all-new Tucson in August 2026. While it showed the Tucson’s new styling, the Korean automaker opted not to share other details back then, such as its powertrain. However, the Korean automaker has officially revealed the next-generation Tucson, and it will be available with two engine options.
The all-new Hyundai Tucson is powered by either a 1.6-liter turbo gasoline engine or a 1.6-liter turbo hybrid gasoline engine. The 1.6-liter turbo gasoline engine delivers 190 horsepower and 265 Nm of torque. The turbo hybrid power unit, on the other hand, produces 242 horsepower, and Hyundai claims that it can achieve a combined fuel efficiency of 17.4 km/l.
The new Tucson hybrid also features “Inertial Driving Guidance,” which uses navigation data to notify drivers when to lift off the accelerator to save fuel. It also has a new “Stay Mode,” which allows occupants to use the climate control and infotainment for a certain period while the Tucson is stationary.
The exterior design follows Hyundai’s “Art of Steel” design language, and the models that Hyundai revealed closely resemble the next-gen Tucson that was spotted roaming around on public roads. The production version looks as sharp as the one we saw in CGI images and the Tucson that was spotted on public roads last month. The front is integrated with vertical H-edge daytime running lights and a slim horizontal center lamp that emphasizes the vehicle’s width.
The side profile has crisp character lines and prominent fender flares, which give the Tucson a muscular look. The rear, on the other hand, has distinctive taillights and a large bumper. Meanwhile, Hyundai also offers an XRT trim for the all-new Tucson, which is said to be designed specifically for individuals who prefer a more rugged look. It features trim-exclusive design elements, seen on the front grille, wheel arch garnish, and skid plate.
Inside, the all-new Tucson has a modern-looking cabin, which is highlighted by the large central screen. Hyundai shared that it has created a refreshing sense of openness and an intuitive user environment in the interior of the Tucson by harmoniously arranging 17-inch or 12.9-inch displays with a 16:9 aspect ratio and physical buttons for operating key functions.
In terms of safety, Hyundai fitted the Tucson with essential safety features, including standard Door Unlock Power Redundancy, which is an advanced safety technology that supports the escape and rescue of occupants in emergencies by utilizing backup power to maintain the door unlock function even if the main power is cut off due to a collision.
The Tucson is also said to be the first Hyundai SUV to feature “Pleos Connect,” a next-generation digital platform. It comes with Gleo AI, which is capable of natural conversation to assist with various tasks.
Hyundai Motor will offer the all-new Tucson with two engine options, the 1.6 turbo gasoline and the 1.6 turbo hybrid, and plans to unveil prices in October and begin full-scale domestic sales.
