GWM Philippines has put three of its vehicles through a 1,000-kilometer fuel economy challenge, with the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP) independently observing and verifying the results.
The “Go 1000 More” fuel eco run covered more than 1,000 kilometers from Nuvali, Santa Rosa, Laguna, to Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, and back. The two-day test involved the GWM Cannon LUX 4×4 9AT, Haval H9 LUX 4×4 9AT, and Haval H7 Hi4 PHEV.
Instead of limiting the vehicles to a controlled route, GWM Philippines took them across expressways, provincial highways, and city roads. The drive also encountered changing conditions, including fair weather as well as periods of light and heavy rain.
The Haval H7 Hi4 PHEV recorded the highest fuel-efficiency figure among the three at 15.73 km/L. It covered 932.4 kilometers on a single tank, starting the run with a fully charged battery.
The two diesel-powered models went beyond the 1,000-kilometer target. The GWM Cannon completed 1,270.0 kilometers, while the Haval H9 reached 1,213.8 kilometers.
GWM Philippines said the run was designed to demonstrate how its diesel and PHEV models perform under conditions that more closely resemble daily, real-world driving. Brand Head Dax Avenido said the company wanted to test the “Go 1000 More” promise on the road, while showing that efficiency and capability can coexist.
AAP supervised the test parameters. Each vehicle started with a full tank filled to the brim, after which the fuel lids were sealed. Tire pressures were set according to factory specifications, while all three vehicles remained on standard OEM equipment.
The official distance was established using trip meter readings, together with any remaining range recorded at the end of the run. This provided the basis for the reported results without changes to the vehicles’ factory equipment.
For Filipino motorists, the results offer another reference point when considering real-world range and fuel efficiency. Still, actual figures can vary depending on driving style, traffic, road conditions, weather, payload, and other factors.
GWM Philippines said it plans to conduct similar tests across more of its lineup in succeeding runs, including 4×2 variants. The company said these future exercises are intended to give customers a more complete picture of range and efficiency across its model range.

The H7 Hi4 PHEV shows where electrification can enter the equation, although its 932.4-km result also shows that real-world range depends on test conditions.
