Hyundai has officially revealed the all-new 2027 Tucson, giving its popular compact SUV a much more dramatic visual identity and introducing the brand’s latest interpretation of its “Art of Steel” design philosophy.
Presented through Hyundai’s Korean website, the fifth-generation Tucson represents a significant departure from the outgoing model. Instead of the softer, more sculpted appearance of the current SUV, the new Tucson embraces a more upright and muscular form, with sharper lines and a more pronounced presence on the road.
The front end is dominated by a wide, angular treatment incorporating Hyundai’s distinctive lighting signature. The headlights are integrated into the more geometric front design, while the lighting elements create a broader visual stance. At the rear, the design continues with a similarly strong horizontal theme, giving the Tucson a wider appearance.
Its body also gets more pronounced wheel arches and sharper surfacing, reinforcing the SUV’s more rugged character. It is a substantial styling shift for a nameplate that has traditionally balanced crossover practicality with a relatively sleek appearance.
The changes continue inside. Hyundai has given the new Tucson a cleaner, more contemporary dashboard centered around a large display, while the cabin adopts a more minimalist arrangement. A two-spoke steering wheel and redesigned center console contribute to a noticeably different interior compared with the current generation.

The redesign is not merely about making the Tucson look tougher. Hyundai is positioning the new model as part of its latest design direction, following the visual language already seen on other newer Hyundai models. For the record, the 2027 Tucson is the next Hyundai model after the Elantra to adopt the brand’s “Art of Steel” approach.
For now, Hyundai has focused its official presentation on the vehicle’s design and overall character. Full technical specifications, including detailed engine and electrified powertrain information for different markets, have yet to be completely disclosed. International reports expect conventional and hybrid versions to remain part of the Tucson lineup.
That leaves one important question for Filipino buyers: when will this new Tucson arrive in the Philippines, and which versions will Hyundai Motor Philippines offer? Keep in mind that this news is fresh off the oven, and Hyundai Motor Philippines has yet to make a statement on whether it would introduce the all-new 2027 Tucson.
The current Tucson remains an important model in Hyundai’s local SUV lineup, including its hybrid variant. The arrival of this radically redesigned fifth-generation model could therefore give Hyundai a fresh challenger in a now-crowded compact SUV market.
For the moment, the biggest takeaway is clear. The 2027 Hyundai Tucson is not simply an evolution of the current model. It is a deliberate change in direction, and Hyundai is betting that its bolder interpretation of the Tucson will make the nameplate stand out even more.
Autocar’s Take
The all-new 2027 Hyundai Tucson is one of those redesigns that will probably divide opinions at first glance, and to us, that is a good thing. Hyundai clearly did not want to play it safe. The new Tucson looks tougher, more upright and considerably more distinctive than its predecessor. The design direction stands out because it gives the Tucson a stronger identity in an increasingly crowded SUV market. The bigger question for Filipino buyers will be what powertrains, features and pricing Hyundai Motor Philippines eventually brings here…. if it would bring it in, at all.
