Great Wall Motor Philippines showcased three vehicles at an auto show, previewing its future model lineup. Among the vehicles it brought to MIAS are a pair of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV), which are the Haval H7 and the Tank 700 Hi4-Z. GWM PH also showed that Ora 05, an all-electric crossover vehicle.

Haval H7 PHEV

The Haval H7 PHEV comes with a similar silhouette to the H9 4×4 SUV, which was launched by GWM PH last February 2026. Aside from having a hybrid powertrain, what sets the Haval H7 from its H9 sibling is that it comes with a boxed light pattern, as compared to the round design seen on the H9.

The Haval H7 PHEV also has a more streamlined finish, while the front bumper is equally as aggressive as the one seen on the H9. The Haval H7 PHEV also comes with muscular fenders, bold character lines on the side profile, and prominent black claddings, while the rear gets distinctive taillights.

Under the hood, the GWM Haval H7 PHEV is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine along with dual electric motors that produce a combined power output of up to 370 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque. It also comes with a four-wheel drive (4WD) system.

Based on the global specs, the Haval H7 PHEV can be equipped with either an 18.7 kWh battery that can deliver a pure electric range of 105 kilometers (CLTC) or a 27.5 kWh battery good for 150 kilometers of pure electric range (CLTC). GWM shared that the Haval H7 boasts a combined range (fuel and battery) of more than 1,000 kilometers. The car brand added that the Haval H7 PHEV is now available for pre-order.

Moving on, the Tank 700 Hi-4Z is the other PHEV that GWM PH showcased at the 2026 MIAS. It comes with a rather sporty yet rugged front fascia because of how the bumper is designed. Also noticeable is the ventilated hood, honeycomb grille design, as well as the sharp character lines integrated into the front bumper, wheel arches, and side profile. This gives the Tank 700 Hi-4Z PHEV a chiseled body finish.

Global specs state the Tank 700 Hi-4Z PHEV comes with an intelligent 4WD with locking differentials. It is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine along with dual electric motors that produce a combined power output of 888 hp and 1,195 Nm of torque. It is also equipped with a 59.05 kWh battery, which allows the Tank 700 Hi-4Z to have a pure electric range of 190 kilometers, while the combined range from the gasoline engine and battery allows it to offer a range up to 1,191 kilometers. GWM PH has yet to announce as to when it will officially launch the Tank 700 Hi-4Z.

Aside from the two PHEVs, GWM PH also highlighted the Ora 5, an all-electric crossover. The Ora 5 is arguably the most different-looking car that GWM brought to MIAS. The Haval H7 and the Tank 700 come with a boxy and chiseled exterior, but the Ora 5 EV has a sleek body, which makes sense to be able to maximize aerodynamics. The Ora 5 EV has round headlights, a simple-looking front bumper, and a smooth side profile.

GWM PH has yet to reveal the official specs of the Ora 5 EV. But in Thailand, it comes with a single electric motor that delivers 201 hp and 260 Nm of torque. It is offered with a 58.3 kWh battery that enables the Ora 5 to have a maximum range of 520 kilometers (NEDC). GMW PH added that the Ora 5 EV will be officially launched this year.

The 2026 Manila International Auto Show runs until April 12 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

Autocar’s Take

GWM Philippines has brought three vehicles to an auto show, which include two PHEVs and one EV. This is a significant showing as GWM is making a statement that it is determined to further expand its model lineup in the Philippines. And it doesn’t just want to expand it by offering random vehicles; GWM PH is telling us that it will be introducing new energy vehicles, which have been gaining popularity in the local market.

As such, it would be interesting to watch how GWM PH markets the Haval H7 PHEV, the Tank 700 Hi4-Z PHEV, and the Ora 5 EV.
