Autohub Group President and CEO Willy Tee Ten is officially the new leader who will steer the commitment of the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) in accelerating electric mobility. Tee Ten, who is the new EVAP President, will bring in his vast experience in the automotive industry.
Tee Ten, a veteran automotive entrepreneur whose group has brought several electric vehicle brands to the Philippine market, shared that he is excited to carry EVAP’s work forward.
“Over the years, EVAP has become a movement, one built by people who believed in electric mobility long before it became the conversation it is today. We are excited to carry that work forward and to keep pushing the boundaries of what the Philippine EV industry can accomplish,” Tee Ten said.
EVAP said that Tee Ten brings with him a long personal commitment to sustainable mobility. The Autohub Group, which distributes brands including Zeekr, Mini, and Lotus in the Philippines, has been an EVAP member company and active participant in the association’s advocacy and events.

EVAP added that Tee Ten’s leadership comes at a pivotal moment for the Philippine automotive industry, as electric mobility is gaining traction in the market. To put things in perspective, EVAP noted that EV sales in the country increased from under 1,000 units in 2022 to nearly 20,000 units in 2025. This shows the increasing consumer demand, government incentives, and expanding EV charging infrastructure.
Charging station availability has tripled from approximately 300 in 2023 to nearly 1,000 in 2025, with the industry now targeting 7,300 stations by 2028. ACMobility is one of the companies that is determined to make EV charging in the Philippines more accessible.
EVAP also said last year that the EV growth in the Philippines is on the right track due to the investments from the public and private sectors. Australia’s StB GIGA Factory opened the first EV battery facility in the country in September 2024, located in New Clark City. The facility is now operational and will annually produce 2 gigawatt-hours of batteries by 2030, enough to power up to 18,000 EVs, according to EVAP.

In addition to Tee Ten, the incoming EVAP board is composed of ACMobility Head of Mobility Infrastructure Carla Buencamino as Vice President; Metro Goldrich Construction President Mark Rola as Corporate Secretary; Autokid Subic Trading CEO Kevin Yao as Treasurer; and PESIN President and CEO Jojo Conde as Auditor.
EVAP founders Ferdinand Raquelsantos will serve as Chair Emeritus and Rommel Juan as Chair, while longtime EVAP President Edmund Araga will assume the role of Ex-Officio Immediate Past President.
Autocar’s Take
EVAP enters a new era as it now has a new President, who is Autohub Group’s Willy Tee Ten. The appointment of Tee Ten as EVAP’s new President would help the organization to further increase the popularity of EVs, as well as the new energy vehicles (NEV), in the Philippine market.
The momentum that the EVs and the NEVs in the country is evident as hybrid cars are one of the top choices when it comes to brand-new cars. This is also seen in various car brands in the country, such as Toyota, which has been expanding its model lineup by introducing more NEVs and EVs, including the all-new RAV4 HEV and the Urban Cruiser EV.
