Ford has announced that its high-performance electric SUV, the Mustang Mach-E, ranked first place in the 2026 U.S. Electric Vehicle Experience (EVX) Ownership Study conducted by JD Power, a global data analytics and consumer intelligence firm. This achievement earned the Mach-E the highest overall score among the battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) evaluated.
The JD Power EVX Ownership Study is based on feedback from EV owners after their first year of ownership and focuses on the real-world experience of living with an EV. According to the study, the Mustang Mach-E achieved a score of 760 out of 1,000, placing it ahead of other test subjects.
The study evaluates multiple aspects of ownership, including driving enjoyment, range accuracy, charging convenience, cost of ownership, vehicle quality and reliability, and the effectiveness of EV-related education provided to customers. Ford said the Mach-E’s performance across these fields shows the effectiveness of its approach to making electrification practical and rewarding for everyday use.

Pedro Simoes, President and Managing Director of Ford Philippines, shared that the JD Power recognition highlights how owners experience the vehicle on a daily basis. He noted that the award reflects consumer confidence behind the wheel, ease of ownership, and the practical benefits of the Mach-E, particularly as interest in electrified mobility continues to grow in the Philippines.
In Ford’s vehicle lineup, the Mach-E is pegged as an all-electric SUV that blends the performance DNA associated with the iconic Mustang nameplate with modern practicality. The high-performance vehicle offers quick acceleration, a connected digital driving experience, and a spacious cabin ideal for journeys in and beyond the city.
According to Ford, customer experience is fast becoming important as EV adoption expands worldwide. Beyond specifications and performance figures on paper, initiatives such as the JD Power EVX Ownership Study reiterates how well EVs integrate into everyday life, including charging routines and the learning curve associated with new technology.
Autocar’s Take
The result of JD Power’s latest EV ownership study focuses on an important point: electrification success is ultimately judged by the owners, not the brochure or fancy brand-awareness contents. The Mustang Mach-E’s latest achievement is sending a message that Ford has managed to balance performance, practicality, and education – areas that often challenge first-time EV buyers.
For markets like the Philippines, where EV adoption is still developing, recognitions based on real ownership experiences carry more weight than future promises. They provide tangible reassurance that EVs, even high-performance examples such as the Mustang Mach-E, can fit into everyday life without excessive compromise.
