Chinese carmaker Deepal is now expanding its footprint in the Philippines with the opening of its first flagship showroom in Mandaluyong City. Operating under the leadership of the Autohub Group, the move signals the next phase of the brand’s local rollout.

Deepal Autohub Shaw is located at 312 Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City, Philippines, and is expected to serve as the brand’s primary showroom and customer experience hub in Metro Manila. The dealership headlines Deepal Philippines’ push toward contributing to the country’s electrified mobility adoption. Pinned in an area with high market traffic, It promises an establishment with modern design and premium automotive retail experience in mind.

The flagship showroom opening follows Deepal’s official Philippine market launch earlier this year, when Autohub formally introduced the new energy vehicle (NEV) marque to local buyers through a lineup composed of battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) and range-extended electric vehicles (REEVs).

Deepal, a premium brand under Changan, entered the local market with the S05 crossover in both BEV and REEV configurations, alongside the rugged G318 REEV SUV. During the launch, Autohub positioned the brand as part of its strategy to compete in the country’s growing electrified vehicle segment. Led by Autohub President Willy Tee Ten, the multi-brand automotive company aims to offer next generation mobility solutions that combine innovation, sustainability, and relevance to Filipino motorists as local interest in electrified vehicles continues to rise.

Deepal’s arrival has also attracted attention for its use of REEV technology. An REEV is an electrified vehicle powertrain configuration where the car is powered entirely by electric motors while a small gasoline engine functions solely as a generator to recharge the battery and extend driving range.

The system is viewed as a practical transition technology for markets where charging infrastructure is still developing outside major urban areas. Willy Tee Ten explained that REEVs are steadily gaining grounds as the alternative electrified choice.  REEVs offer a full-EV driving experience without the worry of range anxiety or searching for charging stations along the way, especially on long journeys.

To highlight the occasion, Deepal Philippines held a ceremonial turnover of the first ever Deepal vehicle owners in the country at the newly opened showroom. These owners have made their choice to drive home with the Deepal G318 and Deepal S05 REEVs.

Deepal Autohub Shaw is expected to become a major touchpoint for the brand as competition in the Philippine EV market continues to intensify. The opening likewise reflects the investment of Chinese automotive brands in the Philippines, particularly in the electrified mobility segment where more manufacturers are now starting to establish dedicated dealerships and brand experience centers across Metro Manila.

Autocar’s Take

Deepal Philippines’ flagship showroom in Mandaluyong shows how quickly the Philippine EV market is evolving. More than just another dealership opening, it underscores how Chinese automakers are becoming more committed in establishing a long-term presence in the country. What makes Deepal interesting is its focus on REEV technology, which could appeal to Filipino motorists still hesitant about fully electric vehicles due to charging limitations.

By combining electric driving with extended range capability, the brand is offering something more practical for current local conditions. Competition in the EV space is clearly heating up, and consumers will likely benefit from having more choices and technologies available.
