Motor Image Pilipinas, Inc., the official local distributor of Subaru, has introduced something new to elevate the Forester nameplate to a higher level. Meet the all-new Subaru Forester e-Boxer Hybrid.
Positioned to challenge the fast-rising local electrified segment, the 6th-generation Forester takes a bold step forward by focusing on Subaru’s hybrid system technology. This marks a new era for the model, combining eco-conscious performance with Subaru’s hallmark boxer engine, symmetrical all-wheel-drive system, and advanced safety technologies.
The Forester e-Boxer is powered by a 2.5-liter boxer engine, paired with an electric motor that’s integrated into the CVT. The CVT features a 6-speed manual mode, which the driver can control via paddle shifters, allowing for a more engaging driving experience. The petrol engine and hybrid system deliver a combined output of 283 hp and 485 Nm of torque.
As a hybrid, the Forester e-Boxer doesn’t require an external plug to charge its battery, as the system is capable of self-charging. It automatically draws power from the engine, the electric motor, or both, depending on the driving condition, ensuring that optimal power is given to the battery at all times. At lower speeds, the SUV can operate in EV mode, while the engine takes over at higher speeds. The best part is that the electric motor also assists in acceleration or climbing, delivering instant torque for smoother performance.

The Subaru Forester e-Boxer continues to reflect the brand’s go-anywhere capability. It’s built on the Subaru Global Platform, which has been strengthened for improved ride comfort and handling. Subaru increased chassis rigidity by 20% and enhanced the suspension for improved stability. The SUV offers 220 mm of ground clearance and features dual X-Mode with hill descent control, enabling it to handle rough terrain effectively.
Inside, Subaru collaborated with a Japanese medical center to co-develop the new seats, aiming to minimize fatigue, especially during long trips. Additionally, the driver’s seat comes with 10-way power adjustment and lumbar support. For more enjoyable journeys, the SUV comes with an 11.6-inch full HD infotainment screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a premium audio system. Practical features, such as a hands-free power tailgate and a 484-liter cargo capacity, highlight the car’s versatility.

Subaru fitted the Forester e-Boxer with a load of safety features. Headlining these are eight airbags and two new systems: the Emergency Driving Stop System, which safely halts the vehicle if the driver is unresponsive, and a Driver Monitoring System with facial recognition to detect fatigue or distraction. These come on top of the latest EyeSight 4.0 safety suite, now featuring a wider camera and a range of advanced technologies, including lane centering, autonomous emergency steering, and adaptive cruise control, among others.
All these innovations are wrapped in a body that evokes a stronger presence on the road. Visually, the Forester e-Boxer flaunts a redesigned grille, C-shaped LED headlights, and muscular wheel arches that house a set of 19-inch alloy wheels. New colors include River Rock Pearl, Cashmere Gold Opal, and Daybreak Blue Pearl.
The all-new Forester e-Boxer Hybrid is priced at P2,498,000 and is backed by Subaru’s improved after-sales service, providing owners with peace of mind long after the purchase.
