Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) brand Deepal has formally entered the Philippine market, bringing with it a mix of battery-electric vehicle (BEV) and range-extended electrified vehicles (REEV) aimed at easing the country’s transition to electrified mobility. Backed by its parent company, Changan, and distributed locally by the Autohub Group, the brand is taking space in the premium category with an accessible EV option for Filipino buyers.
Deepal Philippines’ initial lineup consists of the S05 crossover in both BEV and REEV forms, alongside the rugged G318 REEV SUV. As its official local distributor, Autohub Group pins the price point of the Deepal S05 BEV at P1.588 million, while its REEV counterpart is stickered at P1.688 million. On the other hand, the G318 REEV is priced at P2.6 million. With these initial price figures, Autohub Group intends to make Deepal a highly-competitive NEV brand in the mainstream crossover and SUV NEV segments.
At the core of Deepal’s strategy is its REEV technology. Unlike conventional hybrids, REEVs are driven purely by electric motors, with a small gasoline engine functioning exclusively as a power generator to charge the battery. This configuration allows for electric driving in daily use while significantly extending driving range for longer trips.

The S05 serves as the brand’s entry point. In REEV form, it produces around 204 hp and 340 Nm of torque, highlighted by an estimated all-electric driving range of up to 200 km and a total range that can exceed 1,000 km. It also features a modern cabin with a 15.4-inch infotainment display, a digital cockpit, and premium touches such as a “zero gravity” passenger seat.
Meanwhile, the G318 REEV targets buyers looking for performance with versatility. It moves with a dual-motor REEV setup delivering up to 424 hp and over 570 Nm of torque, along with all-wheel-drive capability. Designed with off-road use in mind, it comes with terrain modes, air suspension, and advanced driver assistance systems. Moreover, its pure-electric driving range is estimated at 170 km, with total range reaching up to 1,000 km depending on conditions.
Another model, the Deepal S07, has also been confirmed for local arrival in late 2026, more premium, technology-focused SUV experience with both EV and REEV configurations.
Deepal Philippines said the full specifications of its local lineup will be revealed at this year’s Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), which will happen on April 9 to 12, 2026 at the World Trade Center Manila in Pasay city.
Autocar’s Take
Deepal’s Philippine debut is well-timed and strategically grounded. By leading with REEV technology, the brand addresses a reality many automakers gloss over: inconsistent numbers of charging infrastructure outside the metro.
The S05, in particular, stands out as a practical entry point, offering electric driving anxiety associated with long-distance travel. Meanwhile, the G318 REEV adds an interesting dimension, proving that electrification can extend beyond city use into lifestyle segments.
Pricing is aggressive enough to draw attention, but the brand’s long-term success will ultimately depend on after-sales and reliability.
