Omoda & Jaecoo (O&J) highlighted its latest product innovations during its International User Summit in Wuhu, China. The event was a gathering of partners, automotive media, and O&J owners from around the world.
The highlight of the International User Summit was arguably the global debut of the Omoda X, previewing the brand’s future design language, which is highlighted by striking, assertive, and bold styling. The Chinese car brand said that the global debut of the Omoda X is not just an introduction of a new model, but it is also the “opening of a new space for young people to express their individuality.”
The Omoda X is a Cross Off-Road Vehicle (COV) concept, a design that intends to combine the versatility of an SUV, the capabilities of an off-road vehicle, and the persona of a sports car. Omoda also wanted to combine the practicality of everyday use with the capabilities of a crossover vehicle that can be taken out for outdoor activities and driven on unpaved roads.

The Omoda X is also integrated with Super Intelligent AI Space (SIAS), an artificial intelligence-based platform. The brand said that it is designed to facilitate more natural communication with the multimedia system, without necessarily relying on specific activation commands.
Aside from the Omoda X’s global debut, O&J also showcased its Super Hybrid System technology. A new 5 kWh hybrid battery was launched during the summit. O&J also organized real-world driving tests, with the Omoda 5 Next SHS-H recording a combined driving range of 1,015 kilometers and fuel consumption of 4.5 liters per 100 kilometers during an endurance marathon in China. Meanwhile, the Omoda 4 SHS-H recorded 4.9 liters per 100 kilometers and a maximum driving range of 911.3 kilometers, according to the brand.

The route began with congested city traffic, where frequent acceleration and braking challenged the vehicles’ powertrains. The Omoda 5 Next SHS-H used its dedicated 1.5-liter turbocharged hybrid engine to deliver responsive power while keeping energy consumption in check.
The vehicles then tackled the Hangzhou-Changsha Expressway. The final leg involved winding mountain roads, with steep climbs and successive corners testing power delivery and handling.
On the other hand, the Chinese automaker also highlighted its Super Intelligent Valet Parking system, which allows vehicles to navigate complex parking spaces autonomously.
Aside from the new tech and vehicle, O&J also invited five Miss World guests who presented a fashion show celebrating individuality, while owners from around the world joined together to perform the brand’s theme song, “Follow My Vibe,” bringing different languages, cultures, and lifestyles onto one stage.

Autocar’s Take
Omoda & Jaecoo showcased its latest products and technologies during the brand’s International User Summit in Wuhu, China. This is an important event as it allows O&J to highlight its product innovations, making the global automotive industry aware of its progress. It’s as if O&J organized its own car show, where the star of the show is only its brand, a clever way to own the spotlight. Organizing an International User Summit allows the brand to have a venue that only speaks of its latest innovations.
