VinFast Philippines has been continuously introducing products and services to accelerate electric vehicle (EV) adoption in the local market. Its efforts in making EVs relevant in the Philippines were recognized during the 44th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM) and the 26th ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF26).
The Vietnamese car brand said that VinFast PH was the sole automaker that received a commendation for its contribution to advancing cross-border electric mobility through investments and strategic partnerships. VinFast PH added that the recognition reinforces the brand’s role in supporting ASEAN’s broader energy and sustainability agenda by making electric mobility more accessible.
VinFast PH CEO Antonio “Toti” Zara III shared that VinFast has been and is continuously committed to helping the local market accelerate EV adoption.
“Since our entry in the market in 2024, VinFast has rewritten the rules of mobility in a manner that makes the shift to EV an easy, reliable, and practical choice for many Filipinos. We receive this commendation with pride and humility as it symbolizes the impact of our efforts in helping the country accelerate EV adoption while also recognizing that our work is far from over,” Zara said.

The 44th AMEM and its Associated Meetings brought together energy ministers and senior officials from ASEAN Member States, Dialogue Partners, and international organizations to advance regional cooperation across key areas of the energy sector. The delegates discussed energy security, the transition toward cleaner energy, renewable energy deployment, energy efficiency, and greater connectivity and integration of energy systems across Southeast Asia.
VinFast is one of the official mobility partners of the 44th AMEM. The car brand deployed 11 units of the VF MPV 7 to transport delegates from ASEAN’s Dialogue Partners and other participating stakeholders.
The VinFast VF MPV 7, which was launched in the local market last May 2026, is powered by an electric motor that delivers 204 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque, paired with a 60.13 kWh battery. It comes with a driving range of up to 450 kilometers (NEDC) on a full charge. Fast-charging capability allows the battery to charge from 10 percent to 70 percent in approximately 30 minutes.

Autocar’s Take
VinFast Philippines remained committed to accelerating EV adoption in the local market by offering products and services that could entice potential buyers into making the electric shift. The VF 3 is one of VinFast’s top-selling EVs in the Philippines. In fact, the VinFast VF 3 recorded 2,906 units sold from January to August 2026, as per data from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI). It has captured the interest of individuals who are looking for a compact and practical EV. VinFast PH shared that the VF 3 has already been gaining traction in the local market even before the oil price hikes.
