BYD Cars Philippines appears ready to continue its rapid expansion in the local electrified vehicle market, with the brand officially teasing two additional models that are set to join its growing lineup soon. In a recent social media post, the company confirmed that the all-new BYD Atto 2 and the new BYD Seal 5 DM-i are on their way to Philippine showrooms, further broadening the choices available to motorists looking to make the switch to electrified mobility.
The teaser was accompanied by the message, “Soon, everyone can go electric,” highlighting BYD’s intention to make electric and hybrid technology more accessible to a wider range of Filipino buyers.
The arrival of the BYD Atto 2 has been anticipated for some time now. The compact crossover was previously previewed during the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) last April and later appeared during the BYD Tech Tour in Pampanga, giving local consumers an early look at what could become one of the brand’s most attainable electric SUVs.

Meanwhile, the upcoming BYD Seal 5 DM-i signals the continued expansion of BYD’s plug-in hybrid offerings in the country. Carrying the company’s DM-i hybrid technology, the sedan is expected to offer an alternative for buyers who want the efficiency benefits of electrification while retaining the flexibility of a gasoline engine.
BYD described both models as providing “smarter, more accessible electrified mobility,” a statement that reflects the brand’s strategy of reaching customers across different budgets and lifestyles. The timing of the teaser also suggests that BYD Cars Philippines intends to maintain the momentum it has built over the past year as competition in the local EV and hybrid market continues to intensify.
For now, the company has yet to announce launch dates, pricing, or detailed specifications for either model. Still, the message is clear: BYD’s local lineup is about to get bigger, and more Filipinos may soon find an electrified vehicle that fits both their needs and their budget.

Autocar’s Take
BYD’s teaser strategy is simple but effective: create curiosity without revealing too much. The upcoming Atto 2 and Seal 5 DM-i also show that BYD understands an important reality in the Philippines—buyers enter electrified mobility in different ways. Some are ready to go fully electric, while others prefer the familiarity of a hybrid. Offering both options widens the brand’s appeal considerably. If pricing remains competitive, these two models could strengthen BYD’s position in the local market and place additional pressure on rival automakers to accelerate their own electrification plans.
