A new chapter appears to be unfolding for one of Toyota’s most recognizable nameplates in the Philippines, as dealer postings indicate the imminent arrival of the all-new Toyota RAV4 HEV. Details shared publicly by Toyota Makati indicate that the next-generation RAV4 will be offered locally as a full-hybrid lineup with pricing that positions itself competitively with the midsize crossover segment.
According to Toyota Makati, the upcoming RAV4 HEV will arrive in two variants. The Toyota RAV4 ADV HEV AWD CVT is listed at P2,183,000, while the range-topping Toyota RAV4 LTD HEV AWD CVT carries a price of P2,499,000. Moreover, a White Pearl exterior finish for the LTD variant adds P15,000, bringing it to P2,514,000. While these figures originate from a dealer announcement and remain subject to confirmation by Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP), they already provide insight into how the model may be positioned locally.
Interestingly, the Toyota Makati pricing also puts the upcoming RAV4 HEV in serious competition with key rivals, most notably the Honda CR-V. The recently-launched Honda CR-V VX e:HEV e-CVT variant costs P2,488,000 with an introductory price of P2,438,000. Going by these figures, the RAV4 HEV’s reported starting price could offer buyers a hybrid all-wheel-drive alternative at a more accessible entry point. This positioning may prove significant as competition intensifies in the local electrified crossover market today.

Beyond the pricing figures, Toyota Makati also listed exterior colors for each trim. The ADV variant is offered in Urban Rock, Massive Gray, and Ever Rest colors. On the other hand, the LTD trim expands the palette to include Platinum White Pearl, Attitude Black, Dark Blue Mica, and Avantgarde Bronze. The distinction sets the two variants apart; the latter exudes an adventurous character, and the latter presents a more premium aura.
Although official nationwide specifications have yet to be released, early indications suggest Toyota is moving to balance electrification, capability, and pricing strategy for the upcoming RAV4 HEV. If confirmed, the model could reshape expectations and the course the competition will take once it launches this March.
Autocar’s Take
This is an interesting and headline-making move from Toyota Makati. Now, if its posted pricing figures hold true, Toyota appears to be taking a calculated step with the RAV4 HEV by placing it directly against established rivals such as the Honda CR-V. Also, the brand seems focused on making hybrid technology more attainable while retaining features Filipinos value, including all-wheel-drive capability.
In a segment where pricing has steadily climbed, this approach could shift buyer preferences, intensifying competition among electrified SUVs. The question now is: will TMP’s official launch pricing match Toyota Makati’s post? We will find out soon.
