Kia Philippines has celebrated World EV Day by highlighting its growing electric vehicle (EV) lineup, which is led by models such as the Kia EV5 and the Kia EV9. The Korean car brand also confirmed that it will be launching two new EVs this year, which are the upcoming EV3 and PV5.
Kia PH Managing Director Jay Lopez said that the car brand’s EV lineup will further expand with the addition of the EV3 and the PV5. Both EVs are to be launched in the local market this year.
“World EV Day is a reminder that sustainable driving is rapidly transforming into the standard for modern Filipino roads. Our growing EV lineup, which includes the EV5 and EV9 as well as the upcoming EV3 and PV5, provides drivers with purpose-built electric technology and versatile space designed for their daily lives,” Lopez said.
The Kia EV5 features two 12.3-inch displays, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and a built-in 3.6 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology to power electronics on the go. With this, Kia PH said that the EV5 bridges the gap between daily work routines and weekend road trips. It is also equipped with an 88.1 kWh LFP battery with a front motor, generating 214 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque. The car brand claims the EV5 can deliver up to 550 kilometers of range on a single charge.
Meanwhile, the Kia EV9 is a three-row electric SUV that features second-row Relaxation Seats, which are integrated with power adjustments, ventilation, and massage functions. It is powered by an 800V architecture and a dual-motor all-wheel drive system, producing 379 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. Kia said that the EV9 can go from zero to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds, while its 99.8 kWh battery yields up to 505 kilometers of range.
As stated earlier, Kia PH will be expanding its EV lineup with two new EV models launching within the year. The car brand shared that the Kia EV3 compact electric SUV will be making its official PH debut this September. It will be followed by the introduction of the Kia PV5, a fully electric van built on a modular and adaptable platform, in October. Kia added that the PV5 is designed for local businesses, fleet management, and commercial transport.

Aside from the EV5 and the EV9, Kia PH will be introducing the EV3 and PV5 in September and October, respectively. The PV5 is an interesting EV, as it is meant for commercial use. It is built on the Korean car brand’s Electric-Global Modular Platform for Service (E-GMP.S). The E-GMP.S is a dedicated battery-electric skateboard architecture designed specifically for Purpose-Beyond Vehicles (PBVs). The Kia PV5 is also regarded as the first production model in Kia’s PBV lineup.
