Automobili Lamborghini has brought back the Super Veloce (SV) name with a new flagship aimed squarely at pushing its V12 performance envelope.

Unveiled at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering during Monterey Car Week, the Revuelto SV is the fifth Lamborghini to carry the iconic SV badge. Limited to just 1,963 units, the Revuelto SV is billed by Lamborghini as the fastest-accelerating and most powerful production car it has ever built.

The numbers are certainly substantial. The Revuelto SV produces a combined 1,065 CV, equivalent to 1,050 horsepower, from its naturally aspirated V12 engine working with three electric motors and a new high-performance battery. Lamborghini claims a 0-to-100 km/h sprint of just 2.4 seconds, while top speed exceeds 345 km/h.

Compared with the standard Revuelto, the SV gains an additional 50 hp. But Lamborghini has not relied solely on extra power to make the limited-edition V12 faster. The car also receives optimized aerodynamics designed to generate greater downforce, improve handling precision and enhance performance on the track.

The Super Veloce name has a long history within Lamborghini. Meaning “Super Fast,” the designation first appeared on the Miura SV in 1971. It was subsequently used on the Diablo SV in 1995, the Murciélago LP 670-4 Super Veloce in 2009 and the Aventador SV in 2015.

The Revuelto SV now carries that lineage into Lamborghini’s hybrid era, retaining the naturally aspirated V12 while using electrification to increase overall output and performance.

The debut also formed part of a wider showcase of Lamborghini’s hybrid lineup. The Revuelto SV shared the stage with the Temerario Tricolore and Urus SE Performante, the latter described by Lamborghini as the world’s fastest Super SUV, with a claimed 0-to-100 km/h time of 3.3 seconds and a 312-km/h top speed.

Lamborghini also used The Quail to celebrate its V12 heritage. A dedicated Diablo display featured 30 examples dating from 1994 to 2001, including several Diablo SVs that trace the evolution of the Super Veloce badge.

With production capped at 1,963 examples, the Revuelto SV is likely to remain an exceptionally rare sight. More importantly, it gives Lamborghini’s storied V12 a distinctly modern interpretation while keeping the Super Veloce formula focused on outright performance, sharper handling and driver engagement.

Autocar’s Take

The Revuelto SV is a fascinating evolution of Lamborghini’s V12 formula. Rather than treating electrification as a replacement for the combustion engine, Lamborghini has used three electric motors and a high-performance battery to push its naturally aspirated V12 to 1,065 hp. The result is a 2.4-second 0-to-100 km/h sprint and a top speed beyond 345 km/h.

More importantly, the Super Veloce badge still means what it has always meant: extracting more performance from Lamborghini’s flagship V12. With only 1,963 units planned, the Revuelto SV also gives this latest chapter of Lamborghini‘s SV legacy an appropriately exclusive character.
