Range Rover is preparing to expand its lineup with an entirely new model that promises to take the luxury brand in a fresh direction. Dubbed the Range Rover GT, the upcoming vehicle has been confirmed as the fifth member of the Range Rover family and will become the marque’s first model built on Jaguar Land Rover’s new Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA).
Unlike the brand’s traditional SUV offerings, the Range Rover GT has been developed as a grand tourer that blends long-distance comfort with the versatility expected from a Range Rover. It will launch exclusively as a battery electric vehicle (BEV), while a hybrid electric (HEV) version is planned later in its product lifecycle.
Although the company has yet to release technical specifications, it says the Range Rover GT has been engineered to deliver the effortless performance of an electric vehicle alongside the refinement expected of a premium grand tourer. At the same time, it promises capability beyond what conventional GT models can offer, retaining the all-terrain confidence associated with the Range Rover name.
The British luxury brand also offered a first look inside the cabin, revealing a minimalist interior shaped around what it calls purity, precision and modernity. The dashboard features a new single-screen layout paired with a digital driver display, while a full-width concealed air vent creates a cleaner appearance across the cabin. Woven textile trim wraps the dashboard and discreetly integrates the speakers, contributing to a quieter and less cluttered environment.
Range Rover says the interior has been designed to reduce both visual and acoustic distractions, allowing occupants to enjoy a more relaxing driving experience while providing easier access to vehicle functions through integrated technology.
Prototype vehicles are now undergoing final road testing wearing a bespoke camouflage inspired by the landscapes surrounding Gaydon, home to Range Rover’s creative and engineering teams. The flowing gold graphics reference local topographic contours while highlighting the model’s grand touring character and advanced technology.
The Range Rover GT will be manufactured alongside internal combustion and hybrid models at the company’s Halewood facility in the United Kingdom.
While specifications such as battery capacity, power output, range and pricing remain under wraps, Range Rover has confirmed that more details about the all-electric grand tourer will be revealed later this year as it moves closer to its global debut.
