The Philippine automotive industry posted 35,053 units sold in January 2026, according to the combined numbers from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI), Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA), and other available industry data, which are from non-CAMPI members.
The 35,053 units sold in January 2026 translate to a 10 percent year-on-year (YOY) decrease. The January 2026 auto sales in the Philippines are also 26 percent down compared to the numbers recorded in December 2025, which is 47,371 units sold.
New CAMPI President Jose Maria Atienza said that lower sales during the first month of the year are expected due to the “year-end rush in the automotive market.” He also noted that the Philippine automotive industry delivered “exceptional performance in December 2025, setting the highest December sales record since 2017.”
Atienza remains positive that the PH January 2026 sales performance is still on pace to meet CAMPI’s year-end goal of surpassing 500,000 vehicle sales.
On the other hand, if we look at the numbers from CAMPI and TMA members only, the January 2026 sales performance posted 33,696 units sold. CAMPI and TMA members also sold 2,610 electrified vehicles in January 2026, higher than the 1,600 sold in the same month last year.

Among the CAMPI and TMA members, Toyota Motor Philippines is still the best-selling car brand in terms of total vehicle sales with 16,346 units sold in January 2026, cornering 48.51 percent market share. Below are the CAMPI & TMA car brand members that comprise the top five car brands in the Philippines as of January 2026.
Toyota: 16,346 units sold (48.51 percent market share)
Mitsubishi: 7,003 units sold (20.78 percent market share)
Suzuki: 1,646 units sold (4.88 percent market share)
Nissan: 1,589 units sold (4.72 percent market share)
Ford: 1,272 units sold (3.77 percent market share)
Autocar’s Take
The first sales report for the Philippine automobile industry has been released, and Toyota is still the reigning best-selling car brand in the local market. Its closest competitor remains to be Mitsubishi, but the gap, in terms of sales, between these two Japanese car brands is wide. Toyota’s January 2026 sales performance saw 16,346 units sold, while Mitsubishi posted 7,003 units.
Suzuki Philippines remains the third best-selling car brand among the CAMPI & TMA members. The gap between Suzuki, Nissan, and Ford is slim, and we could expect movements in terms of overall placements as we go along the year. Other than the top car brands, it’s also worth noting that the CAMPI & TMA members sold 2,610 electrified vehicles in January 2026, higher than the 1,600 sold in the same month last year.
