Isuzu Philippines Corporation’s Sales Division Head Robert Carlos is the new President of the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA). The organization said that Carlos will lead TMA as it advances its priorities in “industry growth, road safety, and sustainable transport solutions.”
Speaking of industry growth, the TMA, along with the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI), reported that the total truck sales in 2025 delivered a stable performance. Based on the combined data from the TMA and CAMPI, the local truck industry recorded sales of 6,783 units for Category III trucks, 3,690 units for Category IV trucks and buses, and 888 units for Category V heavy-duty trucks.
TMA said that compared with 2024, the overall sales were largely maintained, which shows a steady market performance as the industry moves to normalized demand. The organization added that the 2025 sales performance highlights the role of commercial vehicles in enabling trade, mobility, and business continuity across the country. It also reflects the demand from different industries, such as logistics, construction, manufacturing, and public services.
As such, TMA is optimistic that momentum from last year’s truck sales will be carried into 2026. TMA President Carlos shared that the organization is well-prepared to meet the growing demand for reliable commercial vehicles.

“Having achieved our industry truck sales targets in 2025, we are confident about the positive outlook for 2026. With sustained infrastructure development and vibrant economic activity, our member companies are well-prepared to meet the growing demand for reliable, efficient, and innovative commercial vehicles that support the country’s development goals,” Carlos said.
Aside from yielding notable truck sales for 2026, the TMA is also committed to promoting road safety and making strides in introducing more environmentally friendly trucks in the Philippine market. The TMA also continues to actively support local body application manufacturing and local parts suppliers, recognizing their vital role in strengthening the automotive value chain
“This year, TMA will take a more active role in participating on government programs and initiatives, particularly those focused on road safety, environmental protection, and possibilities to strengthen local truck manufacturing. Our member companies have been continuously innovating their products, while integrating advanced safety features and greener technologies,” Carlos added.
