Toyota Motor Philippines closed 2025 as the top-selling car brand yet again, posting sales of 229,447 units across the Toyota and Lexus brands. The Vios has once again led Toyota’s sales numbers, a similar trend seen in 2024. Joining Toyota’s 2025 sales push is the seven-seater Avanza.
Toyota shared that it has sold 27,811 units of the Vios in 2025, which accounts for 12.12 percent of the car brand’s overall sales in 2025. The Vios continues to maintain its charm in the local market, which is available in four variants with a starting price of P738,000 for the Vios 1.3 J M/T trim. To put things in perspective, the Vios’ total sales in 2025 have even exceeded the overall sales posted by BYD Cars Philippines, which is 26,122 units sold. This is an indication that the Vios’ appeal to the local market is still evident and continues to have its foothold in the market.

The second top-selling Toyota back in 2025 is the seven-seater Avanza, recording 24,704 units sold, which translates to 10.77 percent of Toyota’s sales last year. Like the Vios, the Toyota Avanza is available in four variants. It comes with a starting price of P844,000 for the Avanza 1.3 J M/T, while the top-spec G CVT is priced at P1,071,000.
The Hilux finished as the third best-selling Toyota in the Philippines last year, posting 23,819 units. The surge in Hilux sales could be attributed to individuals who purchased the model ahead of the implementation of excise taxes on pickup trucks last July 2025. Of note, Toyota Motor Philippines announced that the all-new Hilux will be arriving in the market this year.

The fourth top-selling Toyota model in the Philippines in 2025 is the Hiace with 20,526 units sold, translating to 8.95 percent of the car brand’s sales. Rounding up the top five best-selling Toyota models in the local market last year is the Wigo, which posted 19,063 units sold or 8.31 percent of Toyota’s 2025 sales.
Below are the other models that make up Toyota’s top 10 best-selling cars in the Philippines in 2025 (from sixth to tenth):
– Raize: 17,965 units (7.83 percent)
– Tamaraw: 17,542 units (7.65 percent)
– Innova: 16,112 units (7.02 percent)
– Veloz: 13,745 units (5.99 percent)
– Fortuner: 13,089 units (5.70 percent)
Autocar’s Take
Toyota continues its dominance in the Philippine market, and one of the reasons could be attributed to the solid reputation that the car brand has been able to nurture throughout the years. Another reason for its popularity is the wide reach of its dealership network, as it allows the brand to make its products accessible to consumers.
But more importantly, the reason why Toyota continues to be the number one car brand in the Philippines is that it offers something for every type of buyer, from small hatchbacks and crossovers to MPVs, SUVs, pickup trucks, and even utilitarian vehicles. Its model lineup allows Toyota to meet the needs of Filipino consumers across different price points.
