The Philippine Parts Makers Association (PPMA) has welcomed the newly elected officers of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI), which is now led by new CAMPI President Jose Maria Atienza. PPMA President Ferdinand Raquelsantos has personally extended his support and congratulations to Atienza, along with other newly elected CAMPI officers.
Atienza, who is Toyota Motor Philippines’ Executive Vice President, succeeds long-time CAMPI President Atty. Rommel Gutierrez, who led CAMPI for the past 14 years. The PPMA said that Atienza’s 35 years of experience in the automotive industry will bring deep institutional knowledge and leadership experience. Of note, Atienza has held key roles at Toyota Motor Philippines, particularly in marketing, and as the President of the Toyota Makati dealer group.
CAMPI’s other newly elected officers for 2026 are the following: Atty. Rhys Alexei Murillo of Nissan Philippines as Vice President, Robert Carlos of Isuzu Philippines Corporation as Corporate Secretary, Victor Vinarao of Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation as Treasurer, and Atty. Louie Soriano of Honda Cars Philippines as Assistant Treasurer.
PPMA President Raquelsantos lauds CAMPI’s 30 years of commitment to supporting the Philippine automotive industry, as it continues to work closely with government and industry stakeholders.

Raquelsantos also expressed that the PPMA looks forward to further strengthening its relationship with CAMPI by establishing a collaborative partnership.
“PPMA firmly believes that a strong and collaborative partnership between CAMPI and PPMA is critical to the continued growth of the local auto parts manufacturing industry. With this new and dynamic leadership, we look forward to strengthening our working relationship and aligning our priorities for industry development,” Raquelsantos said.
The PPMA emphasized that its commitment remains to addressing industry challenges, which the organization has proven when the CARS program’s funding was vetoed earlier this year. The PPMA voiced its concern that the defunding of the CARS program could further weaken what remains of the country’s vehicle manufacturing base. Good thing, though, the PH government has found a way to continue supporting the CARS program.
Autocar’s Take
The Philippine Parts Makers Association’s (PPMA) warm welcome to the newly elected CAMPI President, Jose Maria Atienza, shows that the partnership and collaboration between the two organizations will continue to prosper. It also shows a renewed push for tackling the issues facing the local automotive industry.
Atienza’s experience will undoubtedly be key in strengthening the Philippine automotive industry. The recent challenges surrounding the CARS program show how critical cooperation is when policy support is at risk. PPMA President Raquelsantos believes that the continued partnership with CAMPI would play a key role in shaping a more competitive automotive industry in the Philippines.
