Omoda is preparing to unveil the Omoda X, a new crossover that the brand says will represent the next stage of its design and product philosophy, with its global debut scheduled for October 20 at Omoda X Night. The upcoming model is being introduced alongside Omoda’s “CROSSVOLUTION” concept, which the brand describes as an evolution of the crossover beyond conventional vehicle categories and established design boundaries.
According to Omoda, the crossover has become an important part of its global product strategy, with models such as the Omoda 5, Omoda 7, and Omoda 4 exploring different interpretations of the body style. The company says its latest move is intended to push that approach further rather than simply build on familiar crossover formulas.
At the center of that strategy is the Omoda X. The company describes the new model as bringing together characteristics associated with sports cars and off-road vehicles, creating a more contrasting design language.
Omoda says the Omoda X will feature sharp geometric lines and a more pronounced silhouette, combined with the futuristic, mecha-inspired styling that has become part of the brand’s design identity. The result, according to the automaker, is intended to balance the visual qualities of speed and strength.

The model is also being positioned around Omoda’s “Own My Edge” philosophy, which the company says reflects a generation of consumers who understand established conventions but are willing to define their own choices. Rather than presenting individuality purely through rebellion, Omoda says the philosophy is about recognizing existing boundaries while having the confidence to move beyond them when necessary.
That thinking forms part of the company’s “CROSSVOLUTION” campaign. Omoda says the concept goes beyond simply combining different vehicle types, instead focusing on stronger contrasts, more individualistic design and crossover products that are harder to place within conventional categories.
Details about the Omoda X remain limited ahead of its global premiere. The company has not yet disclosed the model’s technical specifications, powertrain options, dimensions, pricing or market availability in the announcement.
What is clear is that Omoda intends the new crossover to serve as a statement of where the brand believes the segment can go next. The Omoda X will make its global debut on October 20 during Omoda X Night, where the company is expected to reveal more about the model and its CROSSVOLUTION direction.

Autocar’s Take
Omoda is clearly aiming for something more distinctive with the Omoda X, although the real test will come when the crossover is finally shown with its specifications and production details. The combination of sports-car-inspired styling and off-road cues sounds ambitious, and the brand’s futuristic design language should give the model a recognizable identity.
Still, CROSSVOLUTION is currently more of a design and brand philosophy than a demonstrated product advantage. The October 20 global debut should therefore be watched for substance beyond the styling message. If Omoda can back the Omoda X’s bold appearance with equally compelling engineering, it could make a stronger case for its next-generation crossover.
