The fifth-generation Hyundai Tucson could most probably feature a major design overhaul, and reports suggest that it will be completely different. Well, this is expected since the upcoming Tucson is a next-generation model, and as such, the difference from the outgoing version is most likely night and day.
Speaking of which, there’s a new leaked photo circulating online courtesy of Korean YouTuber mediaAUTO, allegedly featuring the interior of the next-gen Hyundai Tucson. The leaked interior photo shows a glimpse of what we could expect from the upcoming Tucson, which suggests that it could have a black and beige interior theme.
Based on the leaked photo, the cabin is dominantly in black, and it is accented by a beige or off-white color, courtesy of the seats. Aside from the black and beige interior color, another noticeable interior detail is that the next-gen Tucson could come with a massive touchscreen that already looks like the screen of a MacBook Air laptop. If the leaked photo is indeed the interior of the next-gen Tucson, Hyundai has completely ditched the dashboard layout of the current Tucson, which features a panoramic curved display (photo shown below for reference).
Another design detail to note is that the placement of the wireless charging pad might have been adjusted. Instead of it being in the floating center console, it could now be found underneath the massive touchscreen to make way for the lever-type gear shifter. Well, this might not be the final layout because there’s no telling yet if Hyundai will retain the toggle-like gear shifter.
The leaked interior photo also suggests that the fifth-generation Tucson could come with a chunkier steering wheel design that’s integrated with buttons for essential vehicle functions. It also appears to come with a flat-bottom design. If this is the final form, the Tucson’s steering wheel looks bulkier, and it could indicate that Hyundai intends to make the next-gen model more aptly like a rugged SUV-ish feel.
The next-generation Hyundai Tucson is reportedly expected to be launched this year. However, the Korean car brand has yet to make an official announcement. Recently, Hyundai has debuted the next-gen Elantra.
