BAIC Philippines, under the distributorship of United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI), arrived at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) by showcasing its vehicle lineup, and taking center stage is the B40 Trailmaster rEV.

The BAIC B40e has a bold and assertive exterior, which is complemented by a modern-looking front fascia, thanks to the light pattern design. It also comes with an aggressive front bumper and prominent wheel arches, adding muscle to the B40e’s bold stance.

The side profile gets crisp character lines and noticeable black cladding, while the rear has distinctive taillights along with a large bumper, and the exposed spare tire gives the B40e a rugged look.

Inside, the BAIC B40e Trailmaster 4×4 rEV features a modern-looking cabin that has a clutter-free dashboard since it is integrated with massive screens. Seen prominently on the dashboard are three displays, one for the driver’s instrument cluster and two large 12.8-inch displays, one for the infotainment and one for the passenger.

It is equipped with a turbocharged 1.5-liter gasoline engine that steps in as a generator, which recharges the 40.3 kWh battery pack, and it also has dual electric motors. This powertrain produces a combined power output of 530 horsepower and 655 Nm of torque.

BAIC claims that the B40e offers a combined driving range of 1,200 kilometers, and it can go from zero to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds. The BAIC B40e is a proper 4×4 built on the traditional body-on-frame, paired with a four-wheel-drive system, and has a wading depth of 750mm.
