The third and final round of the 2025 Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup (TGR PH Cup) is happening this weekend, taking place at the 4.2 km long Clark International Speedway (CIS) in Pampanga. An event for the racers, motorsports fans, and the entire family alike, this weekend will feature Lexus Philippines and its line of sporty and luxury models on display.

But there’s one special thing Lexus Philippines will have in store for this race weekend. Case in point, the Japanese carmaker just announced that the Lexus LBX will headline as the official track day lead car.

Lexus didn’t specify more details about this news, but looking back at the previous rounds of the TGR PH Cup, the race weekends would have track day sessions that run in between the main race events. These sessions feature private owners, as well as Toyota car club members doing laps around CIS, to scratch that thrill-seeking itch of driving fast in a safe place. They would pilot their Toyotas, most especially the Toyota GR models such as the GR Yaris, GR Supra, and the GR86, while following a lead car to ensure an organized and safe run.

Lexus says that putting the LBX as the track day lead car will prove its sportiness and sophistication. Going by this claim, the car’s hybridized 1.5-liter 3-cylinder engine will be put through its paces. It’d be interesting to see how it will unleash all its 136 hp around CIS, and achieve its claimed 0-100 km acceleration rate of 9.2 seconds on the main straight.

For those interested in getting to know more about Lexus Philippines, the brand says that it will set up an area for people to take a closer look. Apart from the Lexus LBX, the Lexus NX350 F Sport, with its 2.4-liter turbo engine, will be there to show off its S Sport seats and aluminum pedals.
