Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) is proud to announce the arrival of the New GR Yaris, a rally-bred performance vehicle now available with both manual and automatic transmissions. Retail sales commence on March 6.
Developed from Toyota’s extensive experience in the World Rally Championship (WRC), the GR Yaris embodies Toyota Motor Corporation Chairman Akio Toyoda’s philosophy that “roads build cars.” The model serves as a testament to Toyota’s commitment to continuous improvement through motorsports, ensuring that track-proven innovations translate into superior road performance.
The New GR Yaris boasts an aerodynamic and aggressive exterior, emphasizing its racing DNA. It features 18-inch 225/40 aluminum-forged wheels, LED lighting elements, and a rear spoiler to enhance its dynamic presence.
Under the hood, the GR Yaris is powered by a G16E-GTS 1.6L turbocharged three-cylinder engine, now delivering an increased output of 280 PS and 390 Nm of torque. Enhanced performance features include an upgraded drive mode select system, a new sub-radiator, and an intercooler spray for improved cooling and efficiency.
Customers can choose between two variants:
- 1.6L Turbo A/T – Featuring an 8-speed Direct Shift automatic transmission with paddle shifters for precise control.
- 1.6L Turbo M/T – Equipped with a 6-speed intelligent manual transmission for an engaging driving experience.
Inside, the GR Yaris offers a driver-focused cockpit with enhanced technology, including a 12.3-inch TFT meter display with tire pressure monitoring and a 7-inch infotainment system supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Safety has also been prioritized, with features such as a back monitor, intelligent clearance sonar, and the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) suite, which includes Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA). The A/T variant further benefits from Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, while the M/T variant features Adaptive Cruise Control.
The New GR Yaris is available in the following color options: Super White, Emotional Red, Precious Black, and the newly introduced Precious Metal. Pricing starts at PHP 3,391,000 for the 1.6L Turbo M/T and PHP 3,550,000 for the 1.6L Turbo A/T.
Motorsports enthusiasts can experience the New GR Yaris firsthand at Race Weekend 1 of the 2025 TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Philippine Cup on March 22 at Clark International Speedway. Admission is free.
