Jetour Gaia is taking its flagship G700 into some of the world’s harshest environments after the luxury off-roader was named the official vehicle for Season 2 of Discovery’s Adventure of Extremes.
The partnership also marks the first time global explorer Ed Stafford has collaborated with an automotive brand. Known as the “Modern Robinson Crusoe” and the first person to hike the entire length of the Amazon River, Stafford will put the Jetour Gaia G700 through a series of extreme survival and off-road challenges spanning three continents.
For the series, the G700 will serve as Stafford’s mobile base camp as he tackles Ecuador’s volcanic ranges, Colombia’s jungles, and the Sahara Desert. The environments are expected to provide a demanding showcase of the vehicle’s off-road capability, technology, structural integrity, and powertrain resilience.
Rather than simply serving as transportation, the Jetour Gaia G700 will support Stafford throughout the expeditions. The vehicle is equipped to handle practical requirements associated with outdoor adventures, including brewing coffee, preparing meals, and powering filming equipment.
Stafford said the G700 demonstrated strong off-road capability while also proving practical for extended outdoor use. He described the flagship SUV as more than a vehicle for crossing difficult terrain, calling it his “mobile base camp.”

The collaboration gives Jetour Gaia an international platform to showcase what it describes as its premium, high-luxury, electrified, off-road approach. The company positions the G700 around the idea of “Beyond the Horizon,” combining all-terrain capability with premium comfort and high-efficiency performance.
Jetour International President Ke Chuandeng said Stafford’s willingness to take on extreme environments reflects the spirit behind the G700. He added that the vehicle brings together off-road capability, premium comfort, and efficiency to support explorers in demanding conditions.
Adventure of Extremes Season 2 is scheduled to premiere globally in early August through Discovery’s international television and digital networks.
For Philippine buyers, Jetour Gaia currently has Gaia Spaces in Quezon City and Bonifacio Global City. The brand also said a Gaia Space Alabang is scheduled to open within the third quarter of 2026.
The G700’s appearance on Adventure of Extremes puts the Jetour Gaia flagship in an unusual but fitting setting. Instead of a conventional road test, the vehicle will be judged against volcanic terrain, dense jungle, and desert conditions, giving viewers a closer look at how the luxury off-roader performs when the road effectively disappears.

Autocar’s Take
The Jetour Gaia G700 getting a starring role in Adventure of Extremes is an interesting move because extreme environments offer a very different way to demonstrate what an off-roader can do. A car brand or showroom can only go so far as to highlight luxury, technology, and equipment. But Ecuador’s volcanic ranges, Colombian jungles, and the Sahara Desert provide a much tougher backdrop and a more realistic perspective beyond corporate talk.
Having Ed Stafford use the G700 as a mobile base camp also gives the vehicle a practical dimension beyond simply tackling trails. The real question is whether the G700 can turn this global exposure into credibility among buyers looking for a premium off-road vehicle built for serious adventures.
