The Jetour GAIA G700 has officially conquered the gruelling Moab red rock off-road trails in Utah, USA. Jetour is also proud to announce that it is the first-ever Chinese car brand to participate in the 60th annual Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah.
The Easter Jeep Safari is a nine-day off-road event where thousands of off-road enthusiasts, car brands, and custom builders come together to tackle Moab’s famous red rock and slickrock trails. It is widely regarded as the mecca for off-road automotive enthusiasts. Jetour shared that the GAIA G700 stood shoulder to shoulder with established, world-renowned off-road automotive brands, as it “delivered a stellar performance that exceeded all expectations.”
Jetour pitted two vehicles at the said off-road event, the GAIA G700 and the G700 Whistling Arrow. These two Jetour GAIA vehicles were able to successfully navigate the tough red rock trails, which demand perfection in vehicle durability, geometry, and raw capability. The Chinese car brand added that the two vehicles managed to drive through Moab’s iconic vertical ledges, loose sand, and treacherous slickrock with ease and supreme capability.
Jetour GAIA invited off-road motorsports Hall of Fame driver Robby Gordon and renowned adventurer Hazen Audel to experience the vehicles firsthand during core driving sessions across Moab’s most challenging trails.
“This is very technical driving; you really need [a car] with good traction, which is really important. And the car has to be agile and be able to transition over mountains and the Red Rock stones,” Gordon said.
Jetour noted that the GAIA G700 and the G700 Whistling Arrow’s balanced weight distribution, precise steering responsiveness, and advanced suspension systems allowed them to overcome the challenging and gruelling off-road trails in Moab.
The Jetour GAIA G700 was showcased during the 10th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), and it is currently available in the local market. It has a bold, composed, and commanding stance, which is highlighted by its large grille, muscular bumper, and prominent fender flares. Complementing its commanding front end are the modern-looking headlights that blend seamlessly into the fascia.
The Jetour GAIA G700 is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with dual electric motors and a 34.1 kWh battery. It generates as much as 904 horsepower and 1,135 Nm of torque. Jetour claims that the GAIA G700 can go from zero to 100 km/h in around 4.6 seconds, with a top speed of approximately 180 km/h in full electric mode. Pure electric driving can reach up to 100 kilometers, while the total combined range is rated at close to 1,400 kilometers under ideal conditions.
