The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has facilitated the distribution of the P5,000 cash relief assistance to thousands of inDrive partner drivers. The distribution of the cash relief was done through a special payout activity organized by inDrive in cooperation with the DSWD.

The cash relief distribution to inDrive partner drivers was held at the SMX Convention Center Manila in Pasay City. inDrive Philippines Country Manager Sofia Guinto said that the past few months have been challenging for the ride-hailing industry, especially for its partner drivers, due to the fuel price hike that has affected every motorist. Guinto expressed that it is inDrive’s responsibility to look out for its partner drivers amid rising fuel costs.

“The past few months have not been easy for the ride-hailing industry, most especially for our partner drivers. As an advocate for a fairer TNVS industry, we know it is our responsibility to help our partner drivers maintain their earnings amid rising fuel costs,” inDrive Philippines Country Manager Sofia Guinto said.

“Through our partnership with the DSWD and the LTFRB, the cash relief assistance payout enabled us to support a significant number of our partner drivers. We hope to continue working with the government in advocating for fairer earning opportunities for our partner drivers in the long run,” Guinto added.

Meanwhile, DSWD Undersecretary for Operations Pinky Romualdez emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government and the private sector in ensuring timely support for TNVS drivers affected by rising fuel prices.

“This initiative demonstrates how government agencies and TNVS companies can work together to deliver immediate and meaningful assistance to our transport workers. We thank inDrive for organizing this large-scale payout for its partner drivers,” Romualdez said.

The ride-hailing company said that it has taken the necessary steps to execute a seamless and organized payout system. inDrive activated a multi-channel notification system via SMS and in-app messaging to reach verified drivers, while implementing a structured, color-coded batch system to manage high volumes and minimize wait times.

During the on-site distribution, inDrive mobilized a full-scale operational team alongside government representatives, providing real-time assistance, queue management, and verification support throughout the day. There’s also a medical team on-site to ensure the safety of all attendees.

Ahead of the payout, inDrive shared that it also implemented measures to safeguard the integrity of the distribution process. This included proactively assisting drivers in validating and updating their records, ensuring compliance with requirements set by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

Autocar’s Take

inDrive has collaborated with the DSWD to ensure a smooth and seamless distribution of the government’s P5,000 cash relief assistance to inDrive partner drivers. This is a nice gesture from inDrive to be able to execute and implement a smooth payout activity, which was held at the SMX Convention Center Manila in Pasay City.

By coordinating with its partner drivers before the actual distribution, inDrive was able to minimize confusion, as it gives time to assist its partner drivers in being verified and to submit the necessary documents ahead of time. Through this, inDrive was said to be able to prevent the confusing scenarios that have been reported with regard to availing the P5,000 cash relief assistance from the government.
