BYD Cars Philippines is all set to showcase two electric vehicles at the upcoming 2026 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), which will be the Sealion 7 and the Atto 2. BYD will also be offering test drives at MIAS, as well as the attendance of special guests Alden Richards and Wil Dasovich.

The BYD Sealion 7 is an electric vehicle (EV) that’s already included in the Department of Energy’s (DOE) recognized EV list. BYD PH has yet to reveal the official specs of the Sealion 7, but based on the initial information uploaded on DOE’s website, we can expect that the upcoming Sealion 7 will come with an all-wheel drive setup.

The initial specs also show that the BYD Sealion 7 is equipped with dual electric motors, as well as an 82.6 kWh BYD Blade Battery, which produces a combined power output of 523 horsepower and 690 Nm of torque. The car brand claims that it can go from zero to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds before reaching a top speed of 215 km/h.

The Sealion 7 comes with a five-seater capacity, and BYD claims that it has a maximum electric range of 456 kilometers (WLTP) on a single charge. Other features we could expect are the following: 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 15.6-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless smartphone charger, 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, panoramic sunroof, and DynaAudio 12 speakers, among others.

The BYD Sealion 7 is also integrated with advanced driver assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, lane departure assist, automatic emergency braking, and blind spot detection, among others.

Aside from the Sealion 7, BYD PH said that the Atto 2 will also be shown at the 2026 MIAS. The Atto 2 is an electric subcompact crossover SUV. The BYD Atto 2, like the Sealion 7, is already included in the DOE’s recognized EV list. Based on the specs shown at the DOE website, the Atto 2 could be offered in the Philippines with two variants: Dynamic (Standard Range) and Premium (Extended Range).

The Atto 2 Dynamic comes with a 32 kWh BYD Blade Battery and an electric motor that generates 94 horsepower and 180 Nm of torque. It has a maximum electric range of 280 kilometers (NEDC). Meanwhile, the Atto 2 Premium is equipped with a 45 kWh BYD Blade Battery that puts out 174 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque. It comes with a range of 380 kilometers (NEDC).

Autocar’s Take

BYD Cars Philippines aims to make its presence felt at the upcoming 2026 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) by bringing two EVs, the Sealion 7 and the Atto 2. These two vehicles will further expand BYD’s EV lineup in the Philippines, allowing it to be competitive in the expanding EV market in the country.

Not to mention, the Atto 2 could be BYD’s counterpunch to Toyota’s Urban Cruiser. Of note, both are electric subcompact crossover SUVs, and it seems that these two EVs are set for a slugfest in the local market. The 2026 MIAS will run from April 9 to 12 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
