Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has expanded its all-electric vehicle lineup with the official launch of the Urban Cruiser Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV). The Urban Cruiser BEV made its PH debut alongside the all-new 2026 Toyota RAV4 HEV, and it also boosts TMP’s BEV model range as it serves as an addition to the bZ4X.

As previously reported, the Toyota Urban Cruiser is built around a dedicated EV platform, which it shares with the Suzuki e-Vitara. In terms of styling, the Urban Cruiser comes with an assertive and composed exterior design that’s characterized by sharp-looking LED headlights and an angular front bumper that features black trims. Toyota PH’s subcompact crossover e-SUV also comes with LED daytime running lights, LED fog lamps, and power folding side mirrors.

Speaking of sides, the 2026 Toyota Urban Cruiser BEV has muscular wheel arches, giving it a wide stance. The black cladding on its side profile adds a touch of ruggedness appeal, while the 18-inch alloy wheels add style points.

Turning at the rear, the Urban Cruiser BEV has distinctive taillights along with a roof-mounted spoiler and shark-fin antenna. But the most prominent design detail at the rear is the large bumper that’s accented by a black cladding material, which gives the Urban Cruiser BEV a tough finish.

Inside, it has a two-tone interior theme along with a modern-looking dashboard layout that’s integrated with dark silver trims, seen on the air con vents, and piano black materials. Dominating the dashboard is the massive dual screen, which houses the 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and the 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

It also has a nine-speaker JBL sound system, while the flat-bottom steering wheel is integrated with controls and shiny piano black accents. The Toyota Urban Cruiser BEV also has a sunroof, wireless smartphone charger, four USB ports, a knob-type gear selector, and an electronic parking brake. Meanwhile, the seats feature synthetic leather and fabric, and the driver’s seat comes with an eight-way power adjuster with lumbar support.

Safety-wise, the 2026 Urban Cruiser BEV is equipped with features you expect from a new Toyota car. It has a Blind Spot Monitor (BSM), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), seven airbags, Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), and Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC).

It also comes fitted with a panoramic view monitor camera, parking sensors, Pre-Collision System (PCS), Automatic High Beam (AHB), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Adaptive High Beam System (AHS), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC).

The Toyota Urban Cruiser that’s available in the Philippines comes with a 61 kWh battery that generates 174 horsepower and 189 Nm of torque. Toyota claims that the Urban Cruiser BEV can do up to 475 kilometers of EV range on a single charge.

The 2026 Toyota Urban Cruiser is priced at P2,135,000, which comes with a 7.4 kW Wall Panel Charger and a 3.6 kW Portable Charger.

Here’s the list of TMP’s BEV dealers: Toyota Manila Bay, Toyota North EDSA, Toyota Pasig, Toyota Global City, Toyota Quezon Ave, Toyota Alabang, Toyota San Fernando, Toyota Sta. Rosa, Toyota Makati, Toyota Commonwealth, Toyota Mandaue South (Cebu), and Toyota Mabolo (Cebu).

Autocar’s Take

The launch of the Urban Cruiser BEV further beefs up Toyota Motor Philippines’ all-electric vehicle lineup. Now, TMP has more options for its potential clients who are in the market for an all-electric vehicle. The Urban Cruiser comes with 475 km of range, which is in line with the ballpark figure of other EVs in the local market today.

The Urban Cruiser BEV is also loaded with essential safety and tech features, which are expected from modern cars. It’s also an open secret that the Urban Cuiser is built around a dedicated EV platform that it shares with the Suzuki e-Vitara, a vehicle that’s already listed on the recognized new energy vehicles of the Department of Energy.
