Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has earned another recognition after being named among the Top 3 Importers for the first half of 2026 by the Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Batangas.
MMPC was recognized during the BOC Port of Batangas’ 69th Founding Anniversary and 2026 First Half Performance Review held at the Sotogrande Hotel and Convention Center in Batangas. With the theme “Marangal na Paglilingkod, Makabagong Sistema, Tapat na Aduana,” the event brought together government officials, industry partners, importers, exporters, port operators, and other stakeholders to recognize their contributions to the region’s trade and economic development.
Mitsubishi Philippines received a Plaque of Appreciation for contributing around P9.052 billion in revenues. The car brand said that this translates to more than 6.3 percent of the BOC Port of Batangas’ total collections from January to July 2026. The recognition also highlights Mitsubishi PH’s continued patronage of the Port of Batangas and its contribution to trade and economic activity in the CALABARZON region.
The event was graced by BOC Asec. Charlie Bathan and BOC Batangas District Collector Carmelita Talusan. Meanwhile, representing MMPC in receiving the award were Logistics Vice President Jemabel Boncajes, Logistics Assistant Vice President Jesus Cacapit, and Logistics Staff Jamela Nas.
The Japanese car brand added that being named among the top importers reflects its commitment to maintaining strong partnerships with government agencies and industry stakeholders while supporting trade operations in the country and contributing to the growth and advancement of the Philippine automotive industry.
On the other hand, MMPC also brought home two awards from the 22nd Philippine Quill Awards, earning recognition for communication initiatives tied to corporate social responsibility and government relations. The awards highlight two different areas of MMPC’s work, from developing future automotive technicians to supporting the company’s push toward local hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) manufacturing.
Speaking of the latter, Mitsubishi has been continuously showing its commitment to support the Philippine government’s electric vehicle (EV) push, as the Electric Vehicle Incentive Strategy (EVIS) Executive Order has been issued. Last April 2026, Mitsubishi announced that it intends to have a dedicated HEV production line at its Laguna plant and has submitted its proposal to the Philippine government to be part of the EVIS program.
