Mitsubishi’s environmental initiatives recognized in GREEN Awards

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) received several recognitions in the Guarantee the Restoration of the Environment and our Ecological Niche (GREEN) Awards, organized by the City Government of Santa Rosa, Laguna.

The GREEN Awards recognizes companies that implement measures and initiatives to reduce carbon emissions. It also highlights companies that promote responsible use of natural resources, improve energy efficiency, and encourage environmental awareness.   

With that, MMPC shared that it has received multiple recognitions in Santa Rosa’s GREEN Awards, including the Special Award of Recognition for Environmental Sustainability and Stewardship, Sustainable Development Award, Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Award, and Earth Hour Advocate. Mitsubishi PH said that these awards are a testament to its continued efforts to go beyond regulatory compliance and integrate sustainable practices into its manufacturing operations.    

The Japanese car brand added that the awards it received from GREEN reflect Mitsubishi PH’s environmental initiatives and its commitment to responsible manufacturing operations. MMPC also said that it is determined to further improve its environmental performance while supporting the shared goal of protecting natural resources for future generations.

The GREEN Awards is organized by the City Government of Santa Rosa, led by Mayor Arlene Arcillas, together with the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (City ENRO) headed by Engr. Amor Salandanan.    

Representing MMPC during the awarding ceremony were Manufacturing Executive Vice President Manabu Higuchi, Manufacturing Senior Vice President Reynaldo Gabay, Safety, Health and Environment Vice President Marfel Ancheta, and Government Affairs Vice President Victor Vinarao.

Aside from implementing measures to safeguard the environment, MMPC has also been recognized by the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) for its contributions to the country’s blood donation program

The PRC highlighted Mitsubishi PH’s unwavering support in helping strengthen the nation’s blood supply and advance humanitarian efforts. The Japanese car brand shared that it has earned the distinction from the PRC after contributing 404 blood units through a series of voluntary blood donation initiatives conducted from January 1 to December 31, 2025.

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines is taking the necessary measures to ensure that taking care of the environment is as important as producing vehicles and yielding actual unit sales. The recognition it has received from GREEN Awards is a testament to the manufacturing operations that Mitsubishi PH is implementing in the country. It shows that it is a company that understands the importance of the environment, which is why the brand is said to be following procedures that are in line with reducing carbon emissions, as well as improving energy efficiency and promoting a sustainable way of operating.
