Vietnamese mobility brand VinFast is accelerating its push in the Philippine market, as it enters partnership with 14 new e-scooter dealers nationwide. The move comes ahead of the company’s upcoming e-cooter product launch this June 2026.
The partnerships were made official through a memorandum of understanding signing event with key distributors. VinFast Philippines shared that this marks a major step in building its local market portfolio, not just for its automobile, but also for its two-wheel mobility retail and service network.
Among the partners are established names in the motorcycle industry such as Wheeltek Motor Sales Corporation, Gentrade International Phils., Inc. (Transcycle), Superbikes Corporation, Motoxpress Sales Corporation, FMN Industrial Corp., Eduhome Enterprise, Inc., Keymotors Incorporated, Motorpro by Abenson Ventures Inc. and Aserco, Moto Atelier Inc., Ciclo Suerte, HG Motorzone, HGC Main Marketing (Motorboy), BLC Cycle Parts Supply, and Auto Ten Trade & Services Corp.

These partnerships are expected to fast-track the building and operation of VinFast e-scooter showrooms across key locations. These include Metro Manila, Metro Cebu, Metro Davao, and key provinces like Laguna, Cavite, and Batangas. According to VinFast, many of these companies are slated to open alongside its initial product launch in June, ensuring easy access to both sales and after-sales services.
VinFast’s initial offering in the Philippines will include a range of electric scooters with swappable battery technology, such as the Evo, Feliz II, and Viper. Additional models are also expected to follow, tailored to local road conditions and user needs.
The move comes at a time when the Philippines remains one of Southeast Asia’s largest motorcycle markets, driven by urbanization and demand for more affordable and efficient personal mobility solutions. Rising fuel costs and increasing awareness of sustainability are also contributing to interest in electric alternatives.
Beyond vehicle sales, VinFast is positioning itself as a full ecosystem provider. The company plans to establish around 30,000 battery-swapping stations nationwide in collaboration with infrastructure partners, aiming to address concerns around charging convenience and range anxiety.
“Our partnerships with 14 major dealers in the Philippines mark an important step in rapidly establishing a strong distribution and service foundation from the outset. We are not only introducing products tailored to local needs, but also developing an integrated ecosystem, from battery-swapping infrastructure to after-sales services, enabling consumers to access and adopt e-scooters in a convenient, efficient, and sustainable manner,” shared Vo Thi Cam Tu, Managing Director of VinFast E-Scooters Overseas Market.

Autocar’s Take
VinFast’s latest move shifts the conversation from product hype to market readiness. By locking in dealer partners early on, the brand is essentially building its frontline even before the first scooter even hits showrooms. This matters, especially in a market where buyers rely heavily on physical access, service confidence, and word-of-mouth.
The battery swapping approach is ambitious, but not an entirely new concept, as another e-scooter brand has done it before locally. That brand wasn’t very successful in doing so, but in the case of VinFast, with its expertise in mobility business on both automobile and e-scooter fronts, may be able to make it work for the long-term. The real test will come once operations begin, how quickly these showrooms open, how reliable support becomes, and whether early adopters find the transition from gasoline to electric genuinely seamless.
