Lynk & Co has demonstrated the efficiency of its 08 EM-P plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) by putting it to the test, which resulted in claiming two Guinness World Records. The Guinness World Records that the Lynk & Co 08 EM-P has under its belt are the following: longest hybrid driving range and longest pure electric driving range.

The Chinese automaker shared that the 08 EM-P officially holds the Guinness World Records for the Longest Journey Attempted by a Plug-in Hybrid Powered Production SUV Without Refueling or Recharging. This feat was completed in Hami, China, last April 2024, and Lynk & Co said that the 08 EM-P drove through extreme environmental and complex road conditions.

The Lynk & Co 08 EM-P managed to achieve a total driving range of 1,813 kilometers in hybrid mode, which exceeds its official maximum China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC) total range of 1,400 kilometers.

The second Guinness World Record that Lynk & Co 08 EM-P has is the Longest Journey Attempted by a Plug-in Hybrid Powered Production SUV on Electric Mode. This record was achieved by the Lynk & Co 08 EM-P in Toluca, Mexico, on December 22, 2025.

The automaker shared that the 08 EM-P was able to do a total driving range of 293 kilometers in pure electric mode. To put things in perspective, traveling from the Ayala Triangle in Makati City all the way to Burnham Park in Baguio City is around a distance of 260 kilometers.

Lynk & Co noted that the 08 EM-P was able to get the two Guinness World Records through the PHEV’s “Super Hybrid” system, which is said to be designed around intelligent energy use rather than simply relying on larger batteries or fuel tanks. The automaker also claims that the 08 EM-P is engineered with CMO Evo architecture, which adopts a seven-layer design that results in a longer wheelbase, improved pure-electric performance, a stronger chassis, and smarter systems that enhance driving, safety, and connectivity.

Lynk & Co added that the two Guinness World Records achieved in both hybrid and pure electric range show the capabilities and efficiency of its 08 EM-P. The car brand concludes that it also demonstrates how smart hybrid technology can deliver practical, real-world benefits by combining efficiency and performance.

Autocar’s Take

Lynk & Co 08 EM-P’s achievement is a testament to how hybrid vehicles can combine both efficiency and performance in one package. By getting two Guinness World Records, the Chinese car brand is showing how its vehicles, such as the 08 EM-P, are both efficient and smart, which in turn makes a strong case for individuals who are considering switching to new energy vehicles.

By pitting the 08 EM-P in real-world driving conditions and by achieving those numbers, Lynk & Co is not just showcasing its technology, but it is also making a point that hybrid vehicles can offer both efficiency and performance.
