FordPH launches Next-gen Ranger and Everest

To kick off Ford’s Island Conquest for this year, Ford Philippines has launched the next generation Ranger and Everest in Arcovia City Pasig, six years after the previous generation vehicles were debuted and met with market success.

Both vehicles now come with a 5-year warranty or a total mileage of 150,000 kilometers, whichever comes first. Powering both vehicles is a choice of a 2.0L turbodiesel with 160hp and 405Nm of torque, and a 2.0L twin-turbo diesel with 207hp and 500Nm of torque for the higher end models. A choice of a 10-speed or a 6-speed automatic are available, though for the base Ranger models they get a 6-speed manual.

Terrain management on both vehicles consist of six modes: Normal, Eco, Tow Haul, Slippery, Mud/Ruts and Sand, with a drive selector allowing for adjustments on the drive settings depending on the situation.

On the design front, both the Ranger and the Everest share a new front end, which echo Ford’s larger F-150 truck, with C-clamp LED headlamps that highlight the increased width, a large grille, and a line that strikes through the grille from headlight to headlight. Both vehicles are 50mm longer and 50mm wider than their predecessors.

The new Ranger now incorporates a new box step area for easier cargo access. Roof rails on the Ranger Wildtrak model allow for more cargo space, and the tailgate can be electronically opened with a push of a button.

The Ranger’s cabin is now been revamped, utilizing soft touch materials such as leather. A choice of 10 or 12 inch touchscreen systems (depending on the trim) highlight the cabin of the Ranger, with Ford’s SYNC4A entertainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. Wireless charging is also implemented on the center console, as well as a 360 degree camera. For more storage, another glovebox is implemented on the passenger dash.

Safety features include Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go and Lane Centering, Lane Keeping System with Road Edge Detection, Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keeping Aid & Lane Departure Warning, Pre-Collision Assist with Intersection, among others.

The Everest has been given a makeover as well besides the Ranger, giving the midsize SUV a more rugged look and feel. A full-width C-shaped tail design gives the new Everest a modern yet sophisticated look. Inside, it seats 8, with a third row seat that can be folded to reveal more cargo space. Across the range, the Everest features electronically adjustable seats (except for the Trend variant, limited to the drivers side only). 12V power outlets are available as standard for passengers to charge their gadgets, while the 230V outlet at the rear allows to power appliances. The Titanium+ model features a panoramic moonroof as standard.

As with the Ranger, a 10 or 12 inch touchscreen monitor with Ford’s SYNC4A entertainment system is available as standard, with wireless charging capability. Safety features include seven (7) airbags standard across all variants, Active Park Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go and Lane Centering, Lane Keeping System with Road Edge Detection, Forward Collision Warning, Evasive Steer Assist and Reverse Brake Assist, as well as ISOFIX anchors, security alarm and front and rear parking sensors.
