Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has officially launched the all-new Outlander PHEV slated for the 2027 model year. Previewed at this year’s Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), the official launch puts the Japanese brand back in the local electrified vehicle market. It also serves as MMPC’s new flagship[ SUV.
The Outlander PHEV combines a 2.4-liter MIVEC gasoline engine with electric motors mounted at the front and rear. The system produces a combined 306 hp and 450 Nm of torque, while Mitsubishi claims a combined driving range of almost 1,000 km and up to 100 km of pure electric driving.
Unlike a conventional hybrid that manages its powertrain automatically, the Outlander PHEV gives the driver control over its EV operation through four selectable modes: Normal, Save, Charge, and EV Priority. It also supports AC Type 2 charging, making it compatible with the charging infrastructure currently used in the Philippines.
And when a charger isn’t available, the SUV can continue operating as a hybrid, allowing owners to use its electrified powertrain without depending entirely on charging stations.
Electrification, however, isn’t the only focus. The Outlander PHEV retains Mitsubishi’s Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC). This system integrates twin-motor four-wheel drive with Active Yaw Control, ABS, Active Stability Control, and Traction Control.

Seven drive modes are available, including Normal, Eco, Power, Tarmac, Gravel, Snow, and Mud. The system is designed to adjust power delivery and traction according to road conditions, giving the Outlander PHEV the capability to handle everything from daily urban driving to more challenging surfaces.
The SUV also comes equipped with Mitsubishi Motors Safety Sensing, featuring Forward Collision Mitigation, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Automatic High Beam, and Driver Attention Alert.
Inside, the flagship positioning is reflected in equipment such as light gray leather-trimmed seats, a panoramic sunroof, a 12.3-inch Smartphone-Link Display Audio system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an eight-speaker premium audio system. A smart rear view mirror and head-up display are also included, along with triple-zone automatic climate control and eight-way power-adjustable front seats with heating, ventilation, lumbar support, and memory functions.
The all-new Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is priced at P2,848,000. As an introductory offer, reservations and vehicle releases made from August 20 to September 30, 2026 will receive a promotional price of P2,749,000.
Available colors are White Diamond, Black Diamond, and Red Diamond. The Outlander PHEV is available through authorized Mitsubishi Motors dealerships nationwide starting August 20, 2026.

Autocar’s Take
The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV arrives at an interesting point for the Philippine SUV market. Its biggest advantage may be the balance it offers: 100 km of electric range for shorter trips, a gasoline engine for longer journeys, and S-AWC for drivers who still want genuine four-wheel-drive capability. That combination makes the Outlander PHEV more than simply another electrified SUV.
At P2.749 million during its introductory period, it also enters the premium SUV space with a substantial equipment list. Whether buyers are ready to embrace plug-in hybrid ownership will ultimately depend on charging access and driving habits, but Mitsubishi has made a convincing case for electrification without completely abandoning the practicality of gasoline-powered mobility.
