Jetour Auto Philippines continues to gain momentum in the local automotive market. Case in point: the Chinese car brand recently announced a 177% year-on-year sales increase through May 2026. The company attributed this achievement to the rising demand for its hybrid and electrified vehicles in the previous month.

Jetour reported retail sales of 1,553 units during the first five months of 2026, significantly higher than the 561 units sold during the same period last year. The performance places Jetour among the fastest-growing automotive brands in the Philippines and highlights the growing acceptance of electrified mobility among Filipino motorists.

May proved to be another strong month for the company, with sales reaching 484 units compared to 163 units in May 2025. The result follows similarly impressive gains in March and April, when Jetour posted year-on-year growth rates of 197% and 283%, respectively.

A key driver behind the brand’s expansion has been its growing lineup of hybrid SUVs and electrified vehicles (EV). From January to May, electrified models accounted for 1,399 units or approximately 90% of Jetour’s total sales volume.

Leading the charge is the Jetour T1 Lightning i-DM, which has quickly emerged as the brand’s best-selling model. The hybrid SUV combines electrified powertrain technology, premium features, and practical everyday usability, making it an attractive option for buyers looking to transition toward more fuel-efficient mobility solutions.

Jetour’s electrification journey in the Philippines began with the launch of the Dashing Lightning i-DM and X70 Lightning i-DM in 2025. The company later expanded its portfolio with the introduction of the T1 Lightning i-DM and T2 Lightning i-DM, strengthening its position in the growing hybrid SUV segment.

The brand is also preparing to move further upmarket with the introduction of the Jetour G700 Gaia premium lineup. The new model is expected to combine advanced hybrid technology, off-road capability, luxury-oriented features, and intelligent vehicle systems.

Jetour will showcase its latest products, including its electrified lineup and upcoming offerings, at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show from June 4 to 7, where visitors can explore the vehicles through displays, test drives, and event-exclusive promotions.

Autocar’s Take

Jetour’s latest sales performance underscores a noticeable shift in the local automotive market. Filipino consumers are becoming more open to hybrid vehicles, especially when they offer practical benefits such as fuel efficiency, modern technology, and competitive pricing. The fact that electrified models account for 90% of its sales is particularly noteworthy.

The T1 Lightning i-DM is positioned as the right balance between capability and affordability, helping accelerate the brand’s growth. With the upcoming Gaia lineup and continued expansion of its hybrid SUV portfolio, Jetour is on the move to becoming a serious player in the Philippines’ evolving electrified vehicle landscape.
