Omoda & Jaecoo (O&J) Philippines is committed to further strengthening its aftersales services, as it announced that it will be offering free replacement for electric vehicle (EV) batteries that drop below 70 percent health.
The car brand said the initiative is part of its efforts to give customers greater peace of mind. O&J PH will replace the battery of its EVs if the battery’s State of Health (SOH) falls below 70 percent. The free battery replacement applies to EVs that are within their warranty period. Speaking of the latter, O&J PH offers a warranty coverage of 8 years or 160,000 kilometers, whichever comes first.
Aside from giving peace of mind, the free EV battery replacement is meant to make shifting to electric drive easier and with more confidence. Among the latest EV models that the car brand offers in the Philippines is the Jaecoo J5 EV, a subcompact crossover that offers modern styling, interior comfort, advanced safety equipment, and an electric powertrain.
The Jaecoo J5 EV’s electric motor produces a maximum power output of 208 horsepower and 288 Nm of torque. O&J PH claims the J5 EV can go from zero to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds. It has a 58.9 kWh CATL lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, delivering an estimated driving range of up to 461 kilometers under the NEDC testing cycle.
Charging options include 6.6 kW AC home or destination charging, along with DC fast charging capabilities. On a high-speed DC fast charger, O&J PH said the battery recharges from 30 percent to 80 percent in 28 minutes.
On the other hand, O&J PH also launched its Roadside Assistance (RSA) Program that gives eligible customers access to 24/7 assistance when unexpected problems occur on the road. Provided through OJ Care, the brand’s dedicated after-sales service program, the RSA initiative is designed to give customers additional support during vehicle breakdowns and other roadside concerns. Among the services available are emergency towing assistance, battery jump-start support, minor on-site technical assistance, and flat-tire assistance.
