Omoda & Jaecoo Philippines (O&J PH) has expanded its model lineup yet again with the launch of the J5 electric vehicle (EV). It joins the J5 hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) that debuted in the Philippines last April 2026.
The Jaecoo J5 EV is a subcompact crossover that offers modern styling, interior comfort, advanced safety equipment, and an electric powertrain. In terms of the overall exterior, the J5 EV looks similar to its HEV sibling. The key design difference can be seen on the front, as the J5 EV does not have a front grille since it is an electric vehicle. The J5 EV features crisp character lines, and in terms of dimensions, it measures 4,380mm in length, 1,860mm in width, and 1,650mm in height, sitting on a 2,620mm wheelbase. Ground clearance is set at 184mm.
The Jaecoo J5 EV’s lighting system features LED technology. The front is fitted with automatic LED headlamps, paired with LED daytime running lights. The rear of the J5 EV features full LED taillights, an LED high-mounted stop lamp, and LED rear fog lamps. The J5 EV also comes with 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 235/55R18 tires, a power tailgate, and a rear roof-mounted spoiler.
Inside, the Jaecoo J5 EV features a refined, clean, and modern-looking layout. It has a dark interior theme complemented by soft-wrapped materials and ambient lighting. Placed right at the center of the dashboard is a large 13.2-inch infotainment touchscreen.
Additional convenience features built into the interior include a manual anti-glare rearview mirror and an integrated wireless charging pad for smartphones. The Jaecoo J5 EV features a six-way power-adjustable seat for the driver and a six-way manually adjustable seat for the front passenger. The J5 EV also has a panoramic sunroof.
In terms of safety, the Jaecoo J5 EV comes with driver, front passenger, front side, and full-length curtain airbags. It also has a 540-degree HD panoramic view monitor, Anti-lock Braking, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Brake Assist, Brake Override, Traction Control, Emergency Brake Assist, Roll Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, among others.
It is also equipped with advanced driver assistance systems such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Rear Collision Warning, and Multi-Collision Brake, among others.
The Jaecoo J5 EV’s electric motor produces a maximum power output of 208 horsepower and 288 Nm of torque. O&J PH claims the J5 EV can go from zero to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds. It has a 58.9 kWh CATL lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, delivering an estimated driving range of up to 461 kilometers under the NEDC testing cycle. Charging options include 6.6 kW AC home or destination charging, along with DC fast charging capabilities. On a high-speed DC fast charger, O&J PH said the battery recharges from 30 percent to 80 percent in 28 minutes.
The Jaecoo J5 EV is now available in the Philippines with a sticker price of P1,399,000.
